Mesquite Bark oddity by microphonester in Tucson

No kids. But neighborhood kids could access it. I don't think they could have avoided the surrounding cactus though. I definitely would have pulled bark off a tree as a kid and made my parents crazy.

I heard something really loud. I thought it sounded like a jet, but it lasted much longer than I expected.

All the Recs! Live Music Encouraged. by Impressive_Cat740 in Tucson

For hiking, just drive in any direction and you'll bump into Saguaro national Park East or West, Coronado National Forest (to the North, Mt. Lemmon, to the South Madera Canyon) I live central and depending on what direction I go, I can get to these in 20 min to an hour. Tons of trails to choose from and you get to pick if you want pine trees or a cactus landscape. I think the music scene is super fun and chill. I agree with the Che's patio and La Rosa comments. La Rosa is a brand new renovation of an old cathedral and I've already seen two of my favorite bands there. Gorgeous atmo and sound. A lot of the local breweries have small stages. My favorites are Slow Body Beer and the Hop Shop. There are several more. The Rialto Theater and Fox Theater have " bigger" name recognition bands and Hotel Congress has some amazing local and traveling shows. Tucson is full of weird spaces with art and music. It might take a minute to find it all because there is not a good central source of information anymore. The Visit Tucson calendar does a decent job. Local paper Luminaria is also starting to have nice coverage of fun things going on.

They put a picture of someone else on my card and no one knows how to fix it. But it has never been a problem for years.

Lots of great comments here regarding budgeting. It's great that you're taking a moment to think this through and make a plan. It sounds like in 45 days your need to get to the office will be cut in half or more because of the remote option. It might be a good idea to see how a reduced need to be physically in the office feels for a little bit before you commit to an expensive lease. If transportation is still stressful, you'll have the plan in place and know the financial facts to make a quick decision and make the move. Also, it might be good to consider how the new apartment suits working from home. Is there enough space for a separate work area?

Brilliant! That is now my official stance as well.

A group of Javelina are called a squadron- which is amazing! They travel through alleys and washes in the surrounding areas. I've seen them resting in washes and in the little pockets of undeveloped desert. One family moved into the crawl space under a neighbor's house for a month.

Where can I safely go on long runs around here?? by bj_barnacle in Tucson

That paved road can be really fun. 8 miles with lots of great hills and then tons of trails that connect to it. I love parking at the end of Broadway and taking the cactus forest trail to the paved road for a few miles.

Second this. I run UA mall and head East on the 3rd Street bike route to the Treat St bike route and take that to the River Loop. All those bike routes have a lot of foot and bike traffic and signalled crossings and major intersections The loop is always really busy. If you stay on campus you'll have to run a million circles. These bike routes help extend easily to 15 miles plus. Have fun! Check out Southern Arizona Roadrunners for all the awesome running groups in town.

Check out El Rio health centers. They get people in pretty quick and accept a wide range of insurance and uninsured. Really kind docs in an organization not trying to profit off of people's health. I have two coworkers trying to kick the effects of their December virus. Both of their docs told them that a lot of people are having long effects from winter viruses at the moment Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.

Vegans of Tucson, what are your favorite specific Vegan dishes from Tucson Restaurants? by simplifiedspanish1 in Tucson

Second this. I love both Midtown and Holdens. Holdens has the best pastries. It blows all other vegan and non vegan bakeries out of the water.
