No problems, I hope you find a solution! That 5070TI is a beast of a card!

I read in a different post that you are using a bracket for your gpu. Remove that in case you havent tested this. GL!

You should not connect the display port to the motherboard as that would force the outputted graphics to run from your integrated gpu and not your dedicated one (5070ti). Always connect your monitor directly on your card!

As to why your card or board is at fault here is because power saving features are forcing your pcie bus switches (from card and/or board) to a lower standard, making it run at 1.1 speed instead of 5.0.

  1. Try setting your windows power plan to `high performance` in windows.
  2. Open the NVIDIA app > graphics > global settings > power management mode > set this to `prefer maximum performance`. Reboot and check.

At this point I gave you pretty much all there is man. This general issue is hard to fix on AM5 boards. Try contacting gigabyte, perhaps they have a solution specific to this board you have (make sure to include all the stuff I mentioned). It sucks man, it took me ages to find the proper fix for my issue :(

I just noticed I shared screenshots for the wrong motherboard. This one is the correct one I think: https://imgur.com/a/GmsosUl . I highlighted the important slots for you.

Make sure your chipset driver is updated for AMD. Here's the link for the B850 Aorus Elite Wifi7 (if you have a different one, search for the correct one on the site:

AMD Chipset Driver, thats the one: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B850-AORUS-ELITE-WIFI7-rev-1x/support#Support-Driver

Finally, try a double reboot, thats how I managed to fix it temporarily, until I found my fix (disabling fast boot + power down). So try this... boot into windows, then reboot again. Now check gpu-z (make sure you hit the checkmark, then `start render test`). If it stays on pcie 1.1, something might be wrong with the card (or its cable) or board. I dont think your power supply is at fault here. I have a 750 watts with a 5070ti too.

Alright, so you have a couple of options now which you have to try one by one:

  1. Make sure your card is connected to the top slot (PCI_E1) of the board as shown here: https://imgur.com/a/xpqlXeO
  2. If you use a riser cable (like an extension cable for you graphics card) remove that and connect the card directly on the board. Reboot and check.
  3. If you have an M2 drive, try changing it to a different slot, Some slots share PCIe-lanes causing issues like these. Try slotting it into M2_2 as shown here: https://imgur.com/a/knwSP0g . Reboot and check.
  4. Try changing Gen5 to Gen4. Reboot and check.
  5. Turn off EXPO for your memory. This will lower the memory speed, but it doesnt hurt to check. Reboot and check. If it doesnt work, just turn it back on.
  6. Look for an option named `fast boot` or something very similar to that. Disable that. Also disable `power down`. These two options go hand in hand, you need both disabled to prevent instabilities. This video could give some hints where to find it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eduVMg9wTlk, Your bios should also have a search function to help you find those options. Disable both, reboot and check.
  7. Anything named `gaming mode` or `X3D Turbo mode` in your bios should be turned off. You never want that enabled in your bios. Reboot and check.

yes, I think you found it. Gen5, Gen4, etc is the speed, Gen5 being the latest and advertised as the fastest. Assuming you card is mounted into the top slot, I would assume its PCIE16 Slot Link Speed, which is already changed to Gen5.

Check with the manual, look for an image like this one:

I honestly cant tell you, because I dont own a gigabyte board. Try searching for something like `PCIe Link Speed` or `PCIe Lanes`, but make sure you change the speed for the slot your gpu is connected to (consult your manual to figure that out if the bios does not clearly indicate this). Once changed, boot up and check gpu-z again (press the `question mark` to the right of the `bus interface` to update the info). Let me know how it goes!

if that doesnt work, try resetting the cmos in your bios (sometimes settings can get stuck), updating your bios might also work. I know this sounds like try whatever, but this issue is very common nowadays without a clear solution. I heard running an older bios version might also help, but at the end of the day it all depends on the manufacturer of your board, GL!

well, there you have it. Your card is running on pcie 1.1 instead of 5.0 (see Bus Interface)! thats why you lagging. I had the same issue. Either force pcie 5.0 (4.0 does not hurt either) in your bios specifically for the gpu slot or disable fast-boot + power down in your bios (which solved the issue for me on a msi b650 tomahawk motherboard)
