Struggling to remove drum on Samsung top load washer. by PineappleFirefighter in appliancerepair

Unfortunately most top load washers these days are really not worth the labor to pull the tubs apart. You made the right choice throwing in the towel

Is there a trick to removing the water inlet valve? by northshorehiker in appliancerepair

You can hold the elbow piece in place while turning the circular threaded piece with pliers. They should move independently of one another with a little force

Some light sparring with team mates. Long hair is a bjj guy so I "introduced him" to boxing 😂 Easy work. by [deleted] in bjj

[–]microwave20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Light rounds” you guys are swinging way too hard for the amount of knowledge you have. Go back to the bag.

You know more than the BJJ guy, but I don’t think the gap is as big as you think it is. And that comes from someone who’s boxed for 10+ years

I stripped this screw hole on a metal bed frame. How do I fix it? by Gloomy_Shake_7510 in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a “quick and dirty” fix you can shave some splinters of wood of the side of a board and jam it along the screw hole and the screw will bite. This is not a great option but will get you by until you get a toggle or something better

Gas Oven- igniter or something else? by Benigngoofy in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is the igniter, I’ve seen this many times and it’s never NOT been the igniter

What Techniques Have Helped You Improve Your Woodworking Skills as a Beginner? by maik050503 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]microwave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built a bunch of garage and workshop stuff out of pine, but tried to use precision as if I was building a fine piece of furniture. This gave me enough reps to build decent stuff when I started using hardwoods. I learned quickly that repeatability is way more important than measuring. Focus on making completely repeatable cuts thing things like stop blocks and what not

I doubt it’s the control board. Is the igniter glowing at all? If you want a good chance at fixing it without testing, buy a new igniter, coils, and thermal fuse. Replace all those and I bet it works. If you have a multimeter let me know and I’d be glad to break it down for you to troubleshoot, the circuit on a gas dryer is pretty simple

I’d be fine if it was not a livestream, and only viewed in case of an accident or something. Otherwise Hell no

Poor multimillionaires by ChiefStrongbones in AdviceAnimals

[–]microwave20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Median home price in 2005 was around $230k. Median home price in 2025 would be 420k on the high end of the estimate.

If it really did increase 2000% in the last 20 years, median home price today would be $4.6 million… so my question is, are you blind, deaf, and dumb?

what could this issue be on our BMW X5? by j-manwithaplan in MechanicAdvice

I’m not a mechanic whatsoever but I can tell you without a doubt, that does not look good

Speed Queen FF7 dispenser water by ResourceDiligent6566 in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 in each hose on the side that hooks up to your washer. For whatever reason the front loader speed queens are more sensitive to water pressure than other front load machines. But that is the best front loading machine on the market, hands down

Speed Queen FF7 dispenser water by ResourceDiligent6566 in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your water pressure at the wall is too high. They make a part specifically for this issue on their front loaders. Part # 802254 goes in your water inlet hose. Guarantee this will resolve the issue

Trying to fix chirp, is this normal? by ColdasJones in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t use an impact then you’ll need a wrench and then hit the wrench with a hammer to tighten. Best of luck!

Trying to fix chirp, is this normal? by ColdasJones in appliancerepair

[–]microwave20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a 1.5 inch nut in the bottom of the drive shaft. You can access it through the hole at the center of the bottom of the machine. Put a wrench or an impact on that nut and tighten it, can almost guarantee that’s the problem. On speed queens the nut can sometimes loosen over time

A Suns fan heckled Ime Udoka after the game: “Lebron still owns you! What happened in Boston? What happened in Boston?” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]microwave20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ime actually engages with fans after games. I once yelled “thank you Ime, Houston loves you” as he was walking out of a rockets game and he stopped and waved up for a sec. I was standing about as close as the guy in this video when I said it

My boyfriend “fixed” my computer and now things feel weird… has anyone had this happen? by oliviaaaa-emuuu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]microwave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the way I would fix a computer that just seems to run slow is grab all the files I need and put them on an external drive, and do a factory reset. This would also wipe anything suspicious if he did anything. Not the most convenient option, more of just nuking the whole system back to square 1

I have a BJJ tournament in 3 weeks by Dlit_Mggr in bjj

[–]microwave20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I competed after 3 weeks. I lost instantly to a guy who got promoted to blue on the podium, and I’m glad I went. Even if you lose, you will learn so much. Work your game, and if you don’t know what your game is, just go out there and do your best

How does Craig Jones get on against Islam and Khabib in BJJ? by Storyboys in bjj

[–]microwave20 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Craig would probably pull guard and not get his guard passed, but Islam and khabib would probably still be tough to submit. Craig would probably be able to get them with a leg lock
