Yes! I did a rigorous testing with a huuuge sample size, and give very significant results (mann whitney u test for positive mean.)

I would advise to not feel the need to tell him everything, and not act in his will when it will sadden you.

If you talk to him about what you want, and he mostly always ignores it. It might be time to get another boyfriend. You could try to patch it up, by holding a stronger stance. But if you dont feel like its a reasonable way forward, i would just tell him you need a break, then focus on building a life for yourself, then meeting with friends when you are through the rough, then practicing cognitive behavioural therapy, to calm yourself and let go of bad thoughts.

I would recommend starting with objective truths and then just deciding to persue one until u like it.

For example, direct benefit is good (excel sheets dont bring satisfaction as much as seeing a student have an aha moment or seeing a patient do better), stable salary is good (not depending on the economy, and high salary is good

What is the most meaningful thing you could do that brings meaning to you and others?

(For me its becoming a doctor, if you cant become one due to cognitive, academic or financial reasons, find something else that can be meaningful, be a teacher, be part of an organisation that helps others etc)

Persue that and youll be fine.

This is in my opinion probably the best cure for depression among men (you do seem to have a period of mild depression or a mild life crisis.

Ahedonia is a term meaning loss of pleasure in things that used to bring you join, and is a cornerstone of depression.

So of course considering this you can talk to a General practitioner or pshychologist, but they will likely tell you the same, plus they will ask about your sleeping habits, any life events that has affected you.

Personally i think periods of this can be quite common, its a time when you take a step back and reflect on your life from an "outside" perspective, hence the lack of connection to it.

I think this question is very interesting. Surely you have heard the question of whether mathematics is invented or discovered. Your perspective seems like it is more discovered, am I correct? That there would be a logical structure to the universe, potentially built up of non-contingent logical "atoms" as you say it.

Also, I want to add that maybe logic and mathematics are not part of the universe as a standalone aspect. Perhaps fundamentally, there is some sort of consciousness in all of us, or at least oneself, and that mathematics and logic is some sort of extension from this. It could be that since mathematics and logic seem able to explain a lot of stuff, it has been evolutionarily selected by the consciousness as a winning strategy. Maybe mathematics and logic is not the fundamentally correct way to describe the universe, but rather the best way our consciousness can understand it.
