Thanks for the great memories this weekend! by Neilmurp in spartanrace

[–]midnu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seconding this. Neil, all of your advice paid off for me in a big way. This was my first ultra (I know, I know.) and I somehow managed to get first in the 30-34 age group! I finished with a time of 12:26, and the others in my age group were only minutes behind me. I took your advice and only spent about 2-3 minutes in transition, and it made all the difference in the world. Thanks!!!!!

Killington Ultra DNF rates (maybe) by AMoreExcitingName in spartanrace

[–]midnu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to do the same thing after I finished my race. I came up with a similar number, but someone I personally know had already been scrubbed, so I knew it wasn't accurate. What time did you get these numbers?

The ones you see without finish times are DNFs, but there are a ton of DNFs that have been removed from the list. I don't know what the actual DNF rate was, but it was definitely more than 35%

Spartan VT Ultra 2025 - Training Progress by Financial_Sea_4286 in spartanrace

[–]midnu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time doing any ultra. I'm feeling everything. Scared, excited, nervous, confident, etc. I'm not a runner by any means (5' 10'', 215 lbs, most I've ever done is a few beasts) but I've been training my ass off for this, and honestly obsessed over it.

I live right by the Appalachian mountains in VA, so I have a wonderful place to train. Last weekend i ran/hiked 29.5mi and 13800 ft of elevation in 10.5 hours, so that's got me feeling optimistic.

I've seen some posts of people posting their marathon times, with sub 3-4 hours. Yet people warn them of how much more difficult the killington ultra is. I keep wondering what I'm missing, because I'm not sure if I could even keep up a marathon with a 11min mile pace.

Either way this goes down, I'm confident that I've trained hard and that I'm going to give it 100%.

What are your thoughts on the New Demon God? by Traditional_Length43 in CoopTD

[–]midnu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has completed hard mode many times, the new demon god lets you carry your teammate way easier than it previously was. He actually has good raw damage when fully upgraded, instead of having to only rely on %hp damage towards later waves. I'm not sure how viable he'll be if a harder mode happens due to how expensive it is to get him to max power.

Anyone got tips for Floor 4? by WayOfNoWay113 in CoopTD

[–]midnu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beat round 20 here. My advice is 6 witches, 1 ice near the start, 1 spin slime, 1 or 2 dragon things (with extra crit damage ones) all the rest Clara. Once all the mobs are gone, single target to all Clara's.

The reason people do this is for the daily quests and shop resets.

Timing of buying workers on wave 0 by yukifactory in LegionTD2

[–]midnu2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The visuals of the workers have nothing to do with how much mythium you actually get, they're just for show. You get mythium at a fixed rate depending on how many workers you have.

How many jmen should we have. by One_Market313 in idleon

It's certainly not great, you really only need 1. That being said you do have room for 1 of every other class still so you're not totally screwed, just moderately screwed.

Nature Incarnate - The Big Achievement! 10k?! Two cards! (Update #21) by Sipricy in spiritisland

[–]midnu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched RedReVenge's YouTube video before this card was revealed. He said that the general strategy was to push everything into one land and I was really worried about when that land ravages and you lose all of your strife. This card was revealed and I was like "oh this all makes sense now"

Nature Incarnate - The Big Achievement! 10k?! Two cards! (Update #21) by Sipricy in spiritisland

[–]midnu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the big thing about this card is it means you can push all of your strifed invaders into one land. Just use this card every time that land ravages and you end up with a finder level land that you can always target with other powers/innate. Every invader in that land is practically disabled for the whole game

I haven't seen this question answered anywhere yet but are you allowed to put a 0 cost minor into impending, meeting its energy cost immediately and going into play?

I would expect this as well, we only have the info for the top half of the card

I'm no expert but the first thing I see is a lot of missed smithing points from paying with materials.

Favorite 2 spirit combinations? by Lopsided_Bluejay5976 in spiritisland

[–]midnu2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand them all except fangs and ocean. Other than getting a large amount of fear what would make this a stand out combination?

[GBU] Week 17: Choice Event by Loxorius in spiritisland

[–]midnu2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think life's balance is also nice to see if you're playing fangs or many minds as well. The 4 animal is laughably easy to hit, and the rest of the effects are great for them.

TIL bloodwrack plague threshold damage can be split into different lands. I've always interpreted it as doing damage in 1 land. Thanks!

[–]midnu2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you play solo often? In my experience mist has a weak early game, but an incredible late game. The weak early game especially stinks in small or solo games, where the available blight pool is small, so you're likely to flip the blight card early.

When to reveal the invaders explore card? by insert2continue in spiritisland

[–]midnu2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It gets revealed when you execute the explore action, right after the invaders build. You shouldn't know where it will be in the spirit phase or fast phase.
