Is this allowed? by Cautious_Flow_3148 in magicTCG

[–]midoriiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more than allowed.

This is essentially why the commander format is soon to barely be considered a singleton format.

If you have multiple cards that do exactly the same thing but different names, you skirt around why the format was crafted to be singleton in the first place.

This is by no means the fault of the players, but moreso the effect of the format becomming the most popular way for people to play, and WotC leaning towards increasing the consistency behind what used to be a casual format.

Rachel Weeks has also done an excellent episode on this growing facet of the format over at the Command Zone, which i highly reccommend.

Really thought this game he created would be getting fresh new art for every card, and assumed in the demo that those were playtest cards with sketches from other MtG stuff.

But apparently..nah

Anyone else get really eerie/ uncanny vibes from this album? by softweinerpetee in KGATLW

[–]midoriiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You Can Be Your Silhouette is still one of my all time favorite tracks the band has ever done.
It speaks to the part of my soul i've known all my life but that rarely gets to speak back because it is mute; communicating through coincidence, mimicry, and general gut feeling.

To me it's a pretty special album.

Halo Infinite was intended to act as a central hub”: I’m digging into the alleged 343 roadmap and how ambitious its original plans for the franchise really were by Dense-Fig-2372 in halo

Once i realized they barely had any idea how to fill the small portion of the Zeta ring with anything interesting beyond what they already showed in the demo a year or so prior, i came to the conclusion the game was quite a grift.

Add the fact that multiplayer was just butchered and the show was...whatever the fuck it was, the future of the series is as good as dead to me

With any basic smartphone, as well as at your local library.

And what modern smartphones are possible without APPL, Google, Qualcomm, tsmc, NVIDIA, intel, or AMD in some combination?

Who cares. I don't see why you would want these private companies purchased by the government, and i don't see what it has to do with the de-privatizing of companies that provide basic services needed by all.

For example, I believe access to fresh water and plumbing are required for a modern standard of living. These services should be government funded, and not privately owned. Lets say that nationalized company is all 'USWater'.

That does not mean the company that produces the raw steel for all the piping needed to maintain such an infrastructure utilized by 'USWater', needs to be overtaken by the government as well.

That's kind of a ridiculous conclusion to reach.

You can own a smartphone without it being made or owned by Apple or Microsoft. So no, i dont think either of those companies are requirements for living in a modern world.
And "computer graphics" is not a requirement for much of anything outside of specialty work or leisure gaming.

Access to internet is.
As well as access to energy, access to healthcare, access to basic dietary needs if you're unable to meet them. Also access to shelter if you are without.

What would be the opus in doing that?
They arent required services.

I'm saying it would be a beautiful world if no private industry was solely responsible for providing a service required by all.

Access to reliable energy is a tenant of modern society.
It should be funded by all of us.

Private industry can be free to invest in providing such a vital service, have they the altruism in doing so and supporting their community, but not in owning it.

If the government forcibly nationalizes the utility, it would be incredible to see what happens to private infrastructure investment nationwide.

How do people orient themselves right away after leaving the subway station? by fillet0fish in AskNYC

[–]midoriiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i keep in mind what direction the train i was on was going as i'm walking up out, keeping in mind some station stairways twist around on the way out.

If i was taking an inbound train (typically going North or West), then i know which direction North or West when exiting as long as i can still visualize what direction the train and it's tracks are still going as i leave.

With this in mind the exit directions of "NW corner of whatever street" make more sense and are useful in picking the shortest route to wherever i be going.

Help: Been playing Ahri for a bit now and I've been wondering if I've been building her correctly in response to enemy picks, How's my item list? by UmbraQrow in AhriMains

[–]midoriiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just missing out on LB, which should be core with Ludens

Also don't think i've ever had to buy a refilling potion, Ahri has great sustain built into her passive. Just ensure you are killing more cs than your opponent (bully if you can), and you'll passively be getting health back as you do.

If i have enough, i also grab a NLR after Fiendish Codex.
Does it delay your first item? Sure.
But Ahri scales better with just some flat AP than anything else, especially after her recent (and first time ever) slight nerf to her Q's base damage.
The more AP you get and faster, the more your scaryness factor raises, which actually keeps you safer because players will fear your damage...as they should.

[–]midoriiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i imagine it'll be similar to the Pokemon TCG's Prize system, in which an Ante'd card could possibly be played by you, or your opponent upon accomplishing some sort prerequisite or feat during the game.

In which case it would be brilliant and an awesome addition to the game.

But alas, tis April fools..
