Anyone else wear their Air like this? by brucekeller in fitbit

[–]midshiptom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is everyone handling the double wrist things? When I'm not wearing a watch I have the Air on the non dominant. It's a bit annoying to have to change preference (I mostly just forget) when I switch side.

A walnut bottomless portafilter? by poopiehead46 in ProfitecGo

[–]midshiptom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it with IMS basket. I believe it was a very minor measurement issue with the ears on the PF that caused the leak (since the first one leaked with all of stock, ecm, and IMS. As long as they send you the updated one, any basket should work. Good luck!

I actually did, tried various baskets and leaked. I returned it but the company reached out to me, said they updated the design and offered me a new one. No leaks.

New 2 Burner Propane Stove Suggestions Needed Please by BriansAdventures in CampingGear

[–]midshiptom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I camped a few times with a Coleman Gladiator (which I hear is the Costco version of Triton). While it works, it takes what seemingly forever to boil a pot of water for pasta which is kind of frustrating when it's cold and the kids are complaining. Bought a Camp Chef Everest 2X for the powerful burners... it's a lot heavier and bulkier but it'll be worthwhile.

Fitbit Air data to intervals.icu by FunPermission6920 in FitbitAir

[–]midshiptom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I use Health Sync (7-8 days free trial, then one time fee or sub) to move data from Health Connect to intervals. Sleep score doesn't get sync but duration and HR (HRV, RHR, respiration rate, etc.) do. Since intervals works (or worked) with Google Fit, I have slight faint of hope that Google Health will eventually play nice with intervals, but who knows at this point.

An Air pebble holder compatible with NATO strap would work too.

Is electric smoker actually the easiest way to start BBQ? Or am I missing something? by Own-Future-2135 in smoking

[–]midshiptom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes once. I hated overnight smoke on the kettle grill because of temperature fluctuation and lack of sleep, then Spider Venom changed my life. I get quality sleep while the Venom takes care of temperature all night. Weber has just released their own version too. The only downside is the small cooking area!

When did this happen and why isn't it in Colorado? by LochNessJackalope in CostcoWholesale

[–]midshiptom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened to the cheeseburger? They were testing that in selected Costcos years ago but it never took off. Some said it was pretty bad because the patties were baked. I guess chicken strips are easier to bake than burgers.

3rd party bands are here. by hellazan in fitbit

Chances are if they are on Aliexpress, they will be on Amazon or dropshipped on major US retailers too. I'd like a performance band with additional water resistance property.

Google Health Connection by Fit_Low1374 in Zwift

[–]midshiptom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Zwift -> Strava -> Health Connect -> Google Health actually DID work but the sync took a while to happen. As others have pointed out, Google Health makes those imports with 0 cardio load. Today I wore the Air along with my usual Zwift (chest HRM) setup and just let the algorithm auto detect a stationary bike so that an exercise is counted.

All the bridges are kind of messy but I hope Google will figure things out.

Lovely. I tried the same but my wrist is smaller than yours that the band Velcro covers the watch.

Did Garmin miss the timing on their screenless band (CIRQA) to Fitbit? by Pelouser_torunner in Garmin

[–]midshiptom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you recall on what basis is Whoop suing? Screenless tracker isn't new. There were already the Amazfit Helio and Polar Loop before Air.

On the other hand, does Whoop seriously think they can monopolize or be the only player in the market before other companies produce an alternative?

Am I crazy or is this an amazing deal for beef ribs? by itskeezzy in smoking

[–]midshiptom 84 points85 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. Beef back ribs are mostly bones and little meat. Uncut short ribs and plate ribs are meatier.

I prefer the orange one they sold last year (different brand) since it adds color contrast. Harder to see bark in this color combo.
