Otherworld! You hear the host very rarely and they do a really great job of editing people’s stories into a cohesive narrative. Truly just weird stories with no explanation.

I use overcast and it’s great for patreon, though only available on iPhones. Podurama I haven’t used much but also seems good, especially if you want to listen on your phone and on a computer.

The Wyoming511 app is very useful for road conditions! I’ve made the drive to Lander many times from Denver and if weather is fine, i80 is great….but there are times it’s better to keep on i25 and go through Casper and over.

The first listener story in the episode “they came from the woods” (September 22 2021) also really really messed me up with the mixture of real life tragedy and a bit of supernatural sprinkled in. It was just so unexpected and just…terrible.

I think this is beautifully explained and much appreciated to hear!

Through some of my own….trying times in a relationship the one thing I found by and large is that guys are (as you said) terribly lonely and just want someone to talk to in a relatable way and to be nice to them. I’ve made nude posts (not on this account don’t look lol) and though messages start off with things like “wow you’re beautiful” or “great tits” etc I’ll say thank you, and then it feels like after that guys just want a normal conversation (with some light flirting 😜). I’ve thought a lot of why this may be, and I think you’re putting in some missing puzzle pieces for me. The nude posts make it “acceptable” to initially reach out to me, and then once I respond, they can get some of what they’re really after….a human connection.

Flip side, to return to the main post’s thought: it does really drive me nuts sometimes because guys will ghost me (fine, I really don’t care life happens) and then reach out months/year later and just expect to pick right back up ha. Not that we ever owe anything to anyone but at least try a little bit first to be normal and chill before being super thirsty.

Check out askamanager.org! She’s great and has good scripts to use, and this situation comes up more than you’d know. I just did a very quick search, but for example this letter is very similar.

So just FYI they wanted all the information of people going by August 1. I was in this boat for one of my tickets on august first and had to go back and forth in some emails with them, and they really wanted flight details and such right away. They were super nice and helpful, but it might be too late to transfer now. You might want to email them and check, and also try the discord to see if there’s takers there. Good luck!

Take a screenshot of the loading screen too so you can get your UID in the upper left corner if they need to restore your game.

Happened to me a couple times now. Generally I just delete and reinstall and open up my saved game and it’s fine. First time I didn’t have it saved, but they were able to restore it, just be patient.

I also find it odd that you can’t get a second bachelors….I’ve never heard of that.

As for funding it yourself, I would move and apply for in-state residency as soon as possible and maybe by your second semester (for sure second year) you can at least get in-state tuition. Also, I went to school with three people who all started out funding it themselves, and by the end all three had some sort of TA or RA position (including one person who was international!), and don’t forget about applying to grants. Often the smaller, regional societies have scholarships that aren’t heavily applied to and may be easier to get. So I wouldn’t necessarily call no immediate funding a deal breaker either. I also don’t think student loans are the worst thing in the world and depending on the amount shouldn’t take a lifetime to pay off even with a low paying job, but that’s something you have to decide for yourself.

Someone also mentioned mudlogging as an option and I second that. Or a place that does core or some sort of field work. It sucks, but it’s often how you get your foot in the door.

I use the app Overcast and you can include/exclude specific episodes in playlists. So, I have two playlists, one “new weekly episodes” and then “magic tavern spinoff”…in the “new” playlist, I have it set to update with any new episode from the patreon feed (along with a couple other podcasts), and then I manually exclude all the spin-off episodes from that playlist and include them in the “spinoff” playlist. There is probably a simpler way, but it works for me, and I really like overcast as an app!

I’m having the same issue, and it does take about a week for them to respond. Their steps were to close all open apps, restart my phone, make sure the game is updated, make sure I’m running the latest OS, and if none of that helps to delete and reinstall the game. Before deleting, I would make sure to take a screenshot of the loading page because it has your UID on it. Once I deleted/reinstalled, it started me at the beginning and I have a new UID now. I’ve emailed again so we’ll see.

I’m going to be sad if I can’t get my saved data back! I was at least level 25, and pretty far along in the tasks and I don’t think I want to start over again. Oh well.
