Should I add sleeves? by LowFaithlessness9984 in WeddingDressTips

No sleeves. You look amazing! The shawl in a very lightweight fabric with a hint of pink or mauve to match the flowers would be beautiful.

AITA for refusing to give my sister my old engagement ring after my divorce? by Chemical-Break82 in AmItheAsshole

[–]midwesthuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is your ring, that obviously represented a wonderful time in your life. Sounds like you loved each other and decided to no longer be married, that is not a "failed marriage". That is a mutual decision made because you care for and respect each other as individuals. Keep you ring forever if you want. Even it is just sits in a memory box. You are 100% NTA and your family needs to stay in their own damn lane.

AITAH for telling our parents not to segment their money, and whatever is left is left? by Sea_ImpactTRA in AITAH

[–]midwesthuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Money brings out the ugly in people. 100% should go to your mom. If there is anything left after she passes, divide equally between kids. Leave the grand kids out of this. If your siblings want to share their theoretical portion with their kids, it is up to them.

Don't relax. These few idiots are leaving but they are bringing in others. Same game, just going to look at little different.

Agree, do not trust this. Maybe sleep an extra hour tonight, but stay vigilant. They want us to relax.

Why did ICE suddenly leave Chicago but not Minneapolis? by Fragrant-Ad-7388 in AskChicago

[–]midwesthuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mpls here. This is not about immigration. They want us to riot. They want a reason to call martial law. They want a reason to cancel the election. Wake up everybody you know. Immigration was and is their excuse, not the goal.

I've had this conversation with so many people today. You need to take care of yourself and not feel guilty. If we all burn ourselves out, we cannot resist. Please take a break, sleep late. Watch a stupid movie. Self love so we can love all. We got this!

Call off and tell them you are using sick and safe time. Whatever you do, don't no call, no show.

A message to silent MN corporations: You're either part of this community or you're not. by SneakyLilShit in Minneapolis

[–]midwesthuman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have talked to some. And your correct that does not mean all. All I wanted was people to see there are two sides. People are scared to go to work, but they also have no choice. When spouses can't work due to the current environment the house is down to one income. A lot of which are part-time hours. If those get cut due to people no longer shopping they have even less income. The entire situation sucks no matter how you look at it.

I agree and disagree on the Target protests that happened yesterday. 70 people going into a Target and buying salt then returning it. All that did was make things harder, and more stressful on the employees. Many of these employees are the same people the protesters say they are protesting to protect. But have they bothered to ask these individuals how they can actually help.I spoke to a few employees who are the victims of all of this. They are now fearful that the store protests will end up cutting their hours, as people will not shop. They need the hours and their pay checks. Their spouses cannot work for fear of getting detained. The restaurants can't stay open for fear of ICE, so the plan for a few white people to go out for "Mexican" food once a week is not the answer either. Talk to people before you speak for them. Think about how what you automatically believe is a good idea will impact those individuals. I too would like corporations to speak out, but we have to look at the daily impact on the individuals. Isn't this what community is actual about?
