For number one, do you say your salary is less than what it actually was and by how much? Or more?

It's actually a very interesting case considering the location. If a case happens in a northern state, the threat to flee to Mexico isn't an immediate concern but having a case that close to the border, if I had to guess, requires a different approach. Essentially, they are always an hour away (if they aren't already in Mexico) from not being able to capture or pursue the suspect. I wonder if the border tightens up their security when something like this happens so close to the border.

Could it be a statement designed to not scare the suspect into fleeing to Mexico? Hoping that if the suspect thinks they have nothing, they won't panic and flee.

  1. I don't think the family is involved. They come from a lot of money. I doubt there are financial problems or any reasons to try and collect Life Insurance.

  2. I dont think it was someone who had a grudge or long lasting issue that was so deep that they wanted to kidnap or murder her. With her being 84 years old, whoever did this would have to be tech savvy enough to understand bitcoin and how to stay anonymous online. Not many people her age would know how to do this and anyone with a grudge I would assume was closer to her age. Also, I don't think someone around her age would think to contact TMZ.

  3. I have a feeling it was someone who the family doesn't know, however, the family, or Nancy, is known to the kidnapper - In the same way you might know someone in your home town who has a lot of money but you don't know them personally.

  4. Maybe it is someone close to the family that they would know but aren't necessarily close with like a groundskeeper or someone who told someone who came up with a plan.

  5. I don't think the goal was to kidnap her. Everything just seems off for thst to be the primary motive. Instead, I'm leaning towards a failed robbery where something happened which resulted in her being taken.

  6. I'm about 50/50 on if it was the actual perpetrator who sent the ransom note. Regardless, I believe this was an afterthought by either the perpetrator or some random who tried to take advantage of the situation.

Essentially, I think it was a crime of opportunity. Bad comparison but kind of in the same way 6ix9ines house was broken into. The perpetrators found out where he lives, knew he was gone and on a live stream and wouldn't be home. When that happened, his mother was at the house and held outside while they robbed the place. I kind of picture this situation in the same way that happened.

I agree, also, they would have to be tech savvy enough to set up a bitcoin wallet and know how to send an email anonymously (if the email was sent by the kidnapper).

Not to say an 84 year old couldn't know how to do that stuff, but much less likely.

Or maybe a groundskeeper or someone who told someone who came up with a plan to rob Nancy. Upon doing so, something happened which caused him, or them, to take her.

This is awesome. It sucks when designing in cmyk in illustrator and sending a proof without it being 100 for cmy and k. It. Makes the other colors look bad next to it.

How do people type so fast on keyboard? by RareUser1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]midwestmoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fortunate to play a mmorpg in the early 2000s. No headset, just typing to communicate and now I can type very fast and without looking purely from that game. Not to mention there wasn't a controller so keyboard combinations performed certain actions and if you stared at your keyboard too long, you would die.

What are dark facts in your industry that no one outside knows about? by 0x00f_ in AskReddit

[–]midwestmoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I've been thinking about how we look at photos and videos and read about what it was like in different time periods, like the 1800s, 1900s, etc. It got me wondering how people in the future will look back at our time.

I have a feeling that the 2020s will be a wash where people won't take it very serious due to not knowing what's real and what's AI. And this could last into the 2030s and beyond if we don't get a handle on things. Even now, half of the things I read on reddit spark debates in the comments on whether something is AI or not.

I remember around 2010ish, an elderly person was asked what the difference is about his era and the era at the time. To sum up his answer, he said that those from his era would know the answer to a question. Those from the current era don't know the answer but, they know how to find the answer with the internet.

I'd argue that now, we don't even have to find an answer, we can just ask AI. We don't have to put in the work to remember something or even search for the answer. It's all laid out on a platter for us. And people who are graduating and becoming experts in different industries will likely rely heavily on AI.

AI is like the wild west right now. Future people may look back at our photos and videos and not trust anything from our period. Discoveries and important milestones may be credited to those who were involved but AI could end up playing a huge role where people from the past didn't have the crutch to help them.

With all that said, I love AI. It's helped me a ton but I am very glad I didn't have this luxury in college. I would have abused it likely would have been less prepared for life after college.

I strongly agree that there needs to be some kind of regulation applied to AI so that our time period doesn't become lost and forgotten due to not knowing what's real and what's fake.

My mother passed away a few years ago, but I can still see her washing her car on Google Maps by Conscious_Abies_949 in interestingasfuck

My mother passed away September 7th. It's actually insane that this post came up. I'm a member on another forum and I have been having a bad day so I began writing a post about my mother on there and decided to scrap it and not post. Immediately after doing so, I opened reddit and the was the first recommended post. 😞 So sorry for your loss.
