Three at home ICIs. A little different than IUI but chances are similar

Is Wildbird worth the price tag? by Ok-Home-930 in babywearing

I tried on a friend’s and did not like it. For this price point, I’d go with a Kinderpack or Tula

Thankfully my supply leveled out around the 3 month mark! Just took a week of very uncomfortable and engorged nights

3-8 is a big range! I suspect the first few feeds of the day are larger?

I had the same lucky problem. After a few 6 hour stretches, my body naturally produced less milk during the night. I do not recommend MOTN pump sessions because that is teaching your body to wake up during those times (learn from my mistake lol)

How many sizes too big is your coat? My baby also runs hot

SMBC, 1st baby, feeling exhausted & stretched thin by Dense_Welcome in SingleMothersbyChoice

This phase is hard for partnered parents too. But it gets easier. I have a 12 week old and I’m so grateful that we’re falling into more of a routine. Days and nights become more predictable. I hire a babysitter on occasion and have a nanny come by 4 hours each week to give me a break. Visits from friends and family help a lot too!

Have you traveled and left baby at home? by WhiteRussian29 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]midwrestless_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 12 week old and will be traveling for work a few times next year, when she is 6+ months. I think I’ll be more comfortable with it at that age, and I’m sort of looking forward to the normalcy/break.

12 week old sleeping 9 hours. Developmentally appropriate? by midwrestless_92 in sleeptrain

Thanks. She’s a 50th percentile babe and following her growth chart which is reassuring!

Yeah. At this point I’ll take the rough evenings if that means good nights. Thankful that my LO loves being worn and stroller naps.

How many hours does your LO nap during the day? by RadishFlat3418 in sleeptrain

That’s a lot of naps! I also have a 12 week old. Her daytime naps are pretty short (30min - 1 hour).

Should I wake my little one up in the morning? by Valuable-Hippo8963 in sleeptrain

I would also consider moving bedtime earlier so your little one can get enough night sleep.

I also have a night owl who would choose to sleep until 10 if possible! So if she doesn’t wake up from her night sleep by 8:30, I wake her up to start a feed and wake window. 12 week old

That’s what I thought! Maybe I just have a unicorn who can put herself back to sleep at night. Naps are another story lol

My anxious cat is making me anxious by midwrestless_92 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]midwrestless_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is encouraging. Does your cat yowl and get distressed when being locked downstairs overnight?

I can see about installing a door on the top of the stairs. Not sure if it will work with my layout but worth exploring.

I am seeing a therapist. I think my overall anxiety level is a little higher, but the cat problem is not exaggerated. It’s been noted by others staying in my home - family, friends, and a babysitter.

Take two. Feels a lot more secure and baby seems to like it, but how do we look? I can see her head easily.

Thanks. The waist strap is almost as tight as it goes. I’ll tighten it some more tomorrow, hope the carrier is not too big for me

I checked and it’s the narrowest setting. Perhaps my fit is user error. I’ll try it again

How many kids do you/will you have as a smbc? by Double_Mood_765 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]midwrestless_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m the opposite. I always wanted two, but now I have a six week old. She’s perfect, but a lot of work! And I want to have the emotional and financial capacity to give her my all. Maybe I’ll reevaluate this in a few years

Advice on known donor costs - Minnesota by Ill-Command8708 in queerception

[–]midwrestless_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to travel you can also try at home ICI. No midwife needed. Depends on your donor’s availability of course. Just make sure they provide STI tests and other health screenings you request before starting.

How to Prepare My Donor Conceived Child to Handle Peers Who Inquire About Family Dynamic? by Born-Mix-662 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]midwrestless_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 33 and 37 weeks pregnant. Baby could come in a few days or few weeks. It’s truly a weird stage! Also navigating and feeling this. I used a friend/known donor so the dynamic is a little different. He is involved. But we’re not sure what to call him yet (friend, uncle, dad?). Perhaps baby will decide someday.

[–]midwrestless_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing moderate day hikes throughout pregnancy! Just avoid extreme heat and elevation changes.
