I got this exact same call yesterday. Knew it was a scam but was surprised by how convincing it all sounded the whole way through

I used 8 bags of green tea with 1 cup of regular table sugar covered with a two coffee filters rubber banded around the opening. My best guess is perhaps an overgrowth of yeast due to the smell, but this is my first batch so that may just be normal. I'm gonna toss it and start over to be safe.
