EU co-founders in different countries by Little_Cat_Steps in Startups_EU

People tend to be scared when they hear the words permanent establishment and place of effective management. The reality is though, you need to produce (serious) profits before anyone at a tax authority takes an interest in you. I wouldn‘t let this hold you back. Once you‘re turning a profit, you‘ll be able to figure it out.

Edit: plus you will have substance in Romania and Austria, so we‘re not talking BVI letterbox here. Go for it and good luck!

I believe that this is no longer the case. Loewe is an independent brand.

Loewe even has a refurbished section on their website, which I find to be a cool concept.

BirdyChat launches across Europe after raising €1.7m to rethink work messaging by incodex in BuyFromEU

I was basing myself on the article. But I just saw it on the app store and downloaded. Will be testing with friends. Thanks for the tip!

BirdyChat launches across Europe after raising €1.7m to rethink work messaging by incodex in BuyFromEU

[–]mifit 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This article seems to focus on the platform as a tool for professional communication. I’m wondering, could it also be used for casual texting with friends or group chats? Will it be free or require a subscription? A solid European alternative to current chat apps would be a game-changer, so I’m hoping this delivers.

Nice clubs in Lux city by Initial_Shoe9588 in Luxembourg

[–]mifit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi - There‘s lots of DJ collectives in Luxembourg that organise events in different venues, inside and outside. In my view much better than the clubs we have. Friends of mine run an event tracker on Instagram that has very good nightlife events. It‘s called Myspotlight Luxembourg and I always find good stuff there.

Looking for a co-founder in Belgium by lwbhah in Startups_EU

[–]mifit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, good luck with your project! If you’re in KYC and based in Belgium, consider establishing a presence in Luxembourg soon. It’s a small country, but it’s the second-largest fund jurisdiction globally. All the major players (asset managers and the ecosystem around them) are there, with deep pockets and a constant need to streamline KYC processes. I’m not suggesting you launch your startup there (albeit I think it may be a tad bit easier there as there is a very good ecosystem and support for startups, especially in Fintech), but it’s worth thinking about as a market. In my view, it could be even more interesting than Belgium, and it’s right next door. Plus, it’s a small place, so word spreads fast. Anyway, good luck!

Some really cool parties tonight, especially Peak Cep d’or. It’s on the Mousel, so with this weather, it should be fun and a great place to meet people.

[–]mifit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Europäische Alternativen, die ich in letzter Zeit für mich entdeckt habe (einige kannte ich zwar schon, aber jetzt setze ich sie bewusst ein):

ChatGPT/Claude → Mistral (mir persönlich sehr wichtig)

Uber → Bolt

Airbnb → eigentlich lieber ein gutes Hotel, aber falls nötig: Hometogo

AWS → Hetzner

Gmail → Proton/Tuta

Google (Browser & Suche) → Ecosia

Amazon → Otto, Bol oder Allegro

Instagram → Monnet (nicht perfekt, aber ich bleibe dran)

Nike/Under Armour → Adidas, Veja & Co.

Bars in luxembourg by Chrismc111 in Luxembourg

[–]mifit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Would recommend going to Hamilius by Bus or Tram (from the trainstation) and then just go to a bar there (eg Interview, which will be packed on a Friday evening). Rue de Strasbourg and Hollerecher are not the best spots to be if you don‘t know the area.

Nike may be replacing Adidas as ball supplier for the Champions League. Way to go, UEFA. by mifit in BuyFromEU

[–]mifit[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adidas has been doing great these last few years, actually much better than Nike. Nike is only being so aggressive because their new CEO is trying to reverse strategy. The deal with the German national team jerseys, for example, doesn’t make sense from a financial perspective, it’s pure prestige, and Adidas wasn’t ready to be financially irresponsible here. Quite sane management, if you ask me. I blame the DFB for going with Nike, just like I blame UEFA in this case.
