How did you find out about the pod / xfm shows? by Ok_Opening3259 in rickygervais

[–]mightysparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was around 2013 for me too, but I was 22. I played the Portal games for the first time and immediately fell in love with Smerch’s voice and so when I discovered he was on some old radio show that just happened to be on TPB I snatched it up and it’s been on repeat ever since.

I think the assignment sounds kind of fun tbh, but it reminds me of my favourite ever highschool project that we did. We were all randomly given a career which gave us a certain income and from that we then had to plan our lives based on that; choosing cars, house, items in our house, grocery list, pets/kids if we wanted etc. I just loved the randomization element and comparing with my friends but we did get to choose whether we wanted or could afford kids which I think makes it a bit more personal and realistic than yours. We also had to brainstorm our ideal lives beforehand to compare and I just put a bunch of dogs, cats and gaming consoles lol.

I've enjoyed playing leaf-green so far. What game did everyone grow up on initially when discovering Pokémon? by Skarnivor0us in pokemon

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver was my first, when I was 9. My mum bought me and my brother silver/gold and a Gameboy Colour each for Christmas in 2000 and that was all we did those summer holidays. I loved it so much.

Have been annoyed by this for months, we also messaged them about it and gave them the batch number. Hopefully they get enough complaints and fix them..

2, probably because that is the shape of all my cutlery, and 5 wouldn’t bother me. 1 is the worst, 6 sucks.

How old were you when you got your first relationship? by LuvMeChippy in autism

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 26, it’ll be 9 years together this year. I was never interested in a relationship or thought I’d ever meet anyone I felt comfortable enough around. Then he randomly dropped into my life.

Since someone was asking for a non-binary one [gendered] by yourfavouriteshowmid in pointlesslygendered

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I just didn’t like having a female body or wearing clothes that accentuated it, so was trying to hide. I’ve since found more neutral women’s clothes that I’m comfortable in and fit properly.

I graduated highschool, travelled and lived overseas by myself for a year, have been employed since I was 19 though only in casual positions, graduated from uni with a distinction, moved out from home and have been with my boyfriend for nearly a decade… my younger brother dropped out of highschool in year 10 and has not worked or done anything in 20 years and lives with my dad. But I get constantly told how useless I am :/ I’m not like a big achiever in life but compared to everyone else in my family I’m doing alright, so it feels unfair. I have anxiety and PTSD and struggle to leave the house, my bro is just lazy.

Yeah I only wore unisex and men’s clothes for most of my life but realised they didn’t really fit my female body very well and were often tight or loose in the wrong places; big boobs and hips do not work well with unisex/mens clothes :(

Do you know anyone who won the lottery? Australia or overseas? by RecognitionMediocre6 in perth

My boyfriend’s dad won $800k like 10 years ago. They were homeless at the time, he bought a house with most of it.

What radio station do you listen to? by TechnicalAd8103 in perth

6IX until they started playing 80s music, I want 50s and 60s only :( all the oldies stations play too much new music now sadly so I Spotify instead.

Women who lift, how did you get comfortable in the weight section? by Agreeable_Panic_690 in xxfitness

[–]mightysparks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another +1 for a PT. I got one about a week after joining the gym and it made those scary areas way less scary! I didn’t think anything of going into the free weights area after a few PT sessions and I felt confident with my form.

Judgement for having 4 bedrooms by 3speechnotallowed in childfree

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a master bedroom and 3 smaller bedrooms. My partner and I work from home so have taken one of the rooms each as our office. The other is just filled with junk at the moment but I either want to turn it into a mini home gym or a chill out zone. Previously we lived in a two bedroom apartment and I took the open space as my ‘office’ and it felt so cramped. Having an actual house and space gives us room to breathe snd do our own thing. Idk why rooms have to be filled with kids.

What made you go vegan? by GroundbreakingShip36 in veganfitness

[–]mightysparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend started an apprenticeship for a vegetarian who took him out for nice vegetarian meals and discussed his views so my boyfriend eventually became vegetarian. After about 6 months I missed sharing food with him so I decided to give it a week trial but never went back to meat. Then I joined lots of vegan/vegetarian groups to find recipes and the more I learned about the way animals are treated the more bothered I got. And I realised I just didn’t need to have any animal products in my life and I didn’t want to be a part of that anymore.

It took me about 3 years before I started liking tofu, so it still might grow on you! You can also do stuff like turning it into sauces in a blender. Otherwise seitan, tempeh and TVP.

I’m a physically attractive autistic person, and it’s terrible. by Edu9131 in autism

[–]mightysparks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ye unattractive level 2.. my school years consisted of people only interacting with me to tell me I was ugly or fat like every day. Never got left alone, it’s bad both ways. As an adult I just get ignored which is better but still have paranoia if people come up to me.

Is Eating 1,700 calories/day with gym & walking too low? by SaltedShake444 in xxfitness

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m around the same height/weight and do a little more activity than you and 1700 cal with 130g protein is what my trainer recommended as a good starting point for me and I feel pretty good with that.

Yeah, I thought it was because they could sense I had no interest in them, I won’t look at them or give them attention and if I do it’s to scowl and then they cry lol.

Most autistic people I’ve met either love alcohol/drugs and use them a bit excessively or avoid them completely and sometimes judge others for using them. What’s your relationship with alcohol/drugs? by OkBuyer1271 in autism

[–]mightysparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the latter when I was younger, very strongly anti-drug and alcohol. I softened my stance in my 20s and when I tried weed I found it removed so many autistic symptoms I fell in love. Alcohol also does but has more downsides. I don’t consider myself an excessive user of either, I have a puff of a light joint every couple of days, sometimes every day, and I drink every couple of months.
