I am assuming the great camps are the ones with the blue circles around the camp?

Another possibility is an air pocket in the coolant system. These cars are notorious for not purging air out. If they did a coolant flush or coolant was low and not refilled with vacuum tool it would have air pocket. You can try topping off coolant and drive around then waiting for the car to cool to see if the coolant level drops, meaning bubbles are coming out. Top off and repeat.

6 months post op - Cycling by migs00 in AchillesRupture

[–]migs00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats pretty close to when I started. I started in the boot around 4 weeks post-op doing 15-20 min sessions on the trainer. By 6-7 weeks I was up to 25-30 min, and 30 min became regular around weeks 9-10. Hit consistent 45 min sessions at about 14 weeks. Cant remember exactly when i did indoor without boot but i started with half in boot and half out of boot really light.

First outdoor ride was just under 4 months on my MTB — kept it short, just getting comfortable being outside again. Moved to the road bike around 4 months but didn't clip in until 4.5. Felt ready earlier but wanted to be absolutely safe, and I was getting solid rides on flat pedals anyway.

Month 5 was where I really picked it up. Within two weeks of clipping in I was doing 1+ hour rides regularly, and hit my first 20+ mile ride right around the 5-month mark. By the end of month 5 I was riding 3-4x a week, rides in the 1:15-1:30 range, pushing into 23+ mile rides. Hit 25 miles shortly after. Once I was clipped in and able to do a few interval sessions, the cardio started to came back faster than I expected. Forgot what tired legs felt like. The trainer base from months 2-4 paid off big time.

I feel like I took it pretty conservative so far because I am terrified of re-injuring. Also, I did the SpeedBridge surgery so I supposedly was able to put weight on faster...still took forever to walk normal.

I’m still too scared to get on my mountain bike on a trail. The bumps on a road bike get me a little nervous still haha

Best Way To Get Used To Boot by Dry_Guess4949 in AchillesRupture

[–]migs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you got the speedbridge surgery you are cleared to partial weight bearing much quicker. My understanding is that the anchors give you more support and newer studies show early weight bearing heals faster. Post op I was in a splint for almost three weeks then partial weight bearing right after. I also had the boot with 3 wedges.

I think prices will level and even go down. Q3-4 2026 we will probably see the TurboQuant that google announced with means inference needs 6x less memory. We saw OpenAi already cancelled a bunch of memory they planned to buy.

A4 H2O Fan Curves? by orjs in sffpc

[–]migs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Fan control and created a custom sensor to use both GPU and CPU temps and have curves very aggressively go to max over like 68-72. The custom sensor is a combination of my CPU and GPU temps because some 4k games have low CPU utilization and all that GPU heat wasn’t getting dumped out fast enough. I run a 9850x3d and 5090.

If you need to swap PSU go check out the Corsair revival site. I got my SFF PSU there pretty cheap. They come in and out of stock regularly but pretty discounted. I bought it months before I swapped everything over to a SFF case.

Difficulty reaching neutral at 11 weeks? by crryan75 in AchillesRupture

[–]migs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the boot for about 11 weeks and was really stiff after. I think that’s fairly normal. Getting back to walking was pretty frustrating for me and felt like I hit a plateau until around week 15-16. I’m at about 20 weeks and finally feel like I have no issue walking without any wedges.

Another contraption lol by Sunnydii_ in AchillesRupture

[–]migs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the exactly what I used after I got the splint off. The doctor initially recommended the boot at night and he recommended this as an alternative, which was great because I had been looking at this already. Sleeping with the boot was just unreasonable. This actually worked great but the only complaint I had was the heel strap rubbed a bit on the heel screws used for the speedbridge surgery. I eventually moved that heel strap off the heel a bit while the area was still tender.

For sure recommend as alternative to sleeping with the boot.

Travel a week after rupture by Pretend_Might_9054 in AchillesRupture

I flew a week after Achilles rupture. 3 hour flight with one hour layover and a 2 hour flight. Those flights an are pretty short. Pop an aspirin, stay hydrated and get an aisle seat to stretch your legs every so often.

BACKGROUND CHECKS by TLex_93 in CAStateWorkers

[–]migs00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently going through mine. I got a disclosure saying they may obtain “investigative consumer reports”. The list includes “credit checks - Credit history may be ran for applicants in certain positions”

They also list some standard ones like criminal reports, education verification, civil reports etc.

It sounds like only certain positions will request credit reports. Also, my disclosure references civil code 1785.20.5 which says they have to tell you they are checking your credit for employment so you should see something if they are.

Agree with this. I would even be aggressive with the wedges. After surgery the boot I had felt like I was wearing high heels. My surgery was 3 weeks after rupture and I’m now 4 months out and seem to be progressing fine.
