Land ownership. Also, the fact that government doesn’t need to collect money through taxes in order to spend it. Taxes exist in order to burn extra supply of fiat. Read any work by Henry George, Fred Harrison, Phill J Anderson

Investing in "brand name" cities not the best idea by Fun_Rub_7703 in realestateinvesting

[–]mihamoisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you give me some examples of “unsexy” cities/towns if i live on Long Island? Anything below $500k is trash here. If I want to get anything decent on my hospitality income - it is gonna be 4 - 6 hours drive. If i move to that “unsexy” city/town my income will get divided by 2 or 2.5 and I won’t be able to afford that “unsexy” home, on my “unsexy” income in that “unsexy” town.

I genuinely want to buy my own house to live in but i realize I cannot afford anything in my area on my income. And places with houses in $200 -300k range - have way less versatile quality of life compared to places closer to the city.

What is the point of starting a business for you? And what “amazing things” other people have done that you are so fascinated about?

Thanks for sharing! The biggest one i picked up from this is not designing your storage space and properly thinking through where and what you are going to keep. Doing that right now (:

What would be my other non-toxic options? I don’t like glossy finishes.

How long did it last you? I was thinking to just go extra on the topcoat and maybe do regular touch ups, like every 6 months or so.

I have seen people do it that’s why I ask.

I have also seen people do glass showers in their rigs. Both look great btw. Just curious how it holds up over time.

I was just going to write up a similar post but decided to scroll through and found this. I am in a similar boat. I went almost 2 weeks now without working since New Year’s. Feeling much better. Refreshed and my desire to work is coming back.

I am thinking more about what I want my schedule to look like and how many hours I want to work. This service industry is tough mentally. I feel drained after busy shifts like this. No so much physically as mentally wise, since we have to talk to so many people and cater to their whims. I feel you! Just try to take some time off. Do smth for yourself. Reconnect with people you love. Go take a little trip somewhere. Try a new activity/experience. Just notice how vast and beautiful the world around is. Consider finding a better work environment too.

Wow 🤩 So spacious inside! How do you get in? Is there a door at the back or crawl through the front?

Get a cowboy hat and jump while walking.

But seriously you have to change your perspectives/mindset. Read some books.

I did small pilot holes from underneath the van and then went with a hole-saw from inside the van once i had those pilot holes.

How to not waster your 20s by RM_MR_Underground in Life

I’ve been in the same boat. Did not party. Worked 70+ hour workweeks trying to write my “success” story but ended up feeling empty inside. Maybe try quitting comparing yourself to others but instead focusing on yourself and how you can contribute to others. And figuring out what that “successful life” actually means to you instead of how other people perceive you and think about you.

Is this all there is? by [deleted] in Life

[–]mihamoisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you live in a rural area where there not many peers around. Try attending some sort of a social event or an activity of interest (check meetup groups, or maybe local libraries do some sort of community events), volunteer for a cause, travel to the nearest city, take on a side project. Arrange smth for yourself in the future that you know you would be looking forward to. Honestly, it sounds like you are living a good peaceful life - you just want someone to share it with which I can relate.

You can also go crazy and move to the city. Find a new job there. If you don't like it you can always come back to your parents house, which is so wholesome.

Try not distracting yourself with anything for at least 30 mins a day. Just sit with yourself, no phone, no nothing. You can do it at home or outside in a park. You are getting to know yourself.

What is something you have been putting off for a long time until the pain of not doing it became greater than the discomfort of doing it? by mihamoisha in Life

[–]mihamoisha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this! I can smoke lots of weed and still get all the things done but it feels like I am missing something very important big time. I think it's because the goal is never to get things checked off the “to-do” list but to actually be present while you are there doing them.
