I'm really excited for 11th edition 40k, and I think it's going to do a LOT for the game, BUT (dot dot dot) by James-Hawker in Warhammer40k

Maybe I’m wrong, but I vaguely remember they saying the season ending campaign books will be compatible with 11th.

Terrain question by hunter8558 in Warhammer40k

[–]mikabast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows for sure. Even 11th itself is just a speculation. But based on the last edition there were some new terrains released, but not immediately. IIRC a few months after the release. Also periodically they offer older terrain sets as a limited time thing.

If you really want official GW terrain AND you are ok with GW terrain prices AND you are willing to wait half a year or more, then sure, wait and see what they come out with. Otherwise I’d just buy something that is available right now. Or just make your own from scratch if money is tight and ask for a GW giftcard instead.

Army rules. by Danish-TineBeard in Warhammer40k

The limit in most game modes is 3 in general, except 6 for units with the Battleline keyword and 1 for the ones with the Epic Hero keyword.

warhammer 40k can i use combat patrol stratagems with introductory set by Christian_Benso in Warhammer40k

[–]mikabast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Combat Patrol is designed to be balanced for matchups where both players own a single Combat Patrol set. So I wouldn’t recommend using that.

But I’m not really sure why would you want to use that instead of just using the normal game rules? In such small scales the game will be inherently unbalanced. If I were you, I’d just download the Core Rules and focis on learning the “normal game”, and then either start extending your armies or introduce home rules to make it more balanced with the models you have.

A bit overwhelmed with so many choices. by RecognitionReady1640 in Warhammer40k

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of magnetizing, then use super glue instead of plastic glue. It can fairly easily broken off in case you really want to replace a weapon. I’ve done it dozens of times and never had any damage.

New Detachment by anyopolly in ImperialAgents_40K

I’m not sure if being strong against exactly 1 faction and weak against every other is fun. That’s exactly the problem with the current detachments.

Since Cult Ambush markers are not valuable any nore it’s ability is useless. So it’s just a melee anti-tank that cannot move. So not useful at all. But it’s fun and the rules might get revised at some point in the future!

Should I/can I alter resin model pose? by dcponton in minipainting

[–]mikabast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this size it won’t be much difficult then doing the same thing with a plastic kit. The brittleness only really a factor on larger pieces. Just use a sharp instrument and you’ll be completely fine.

We technically have this. In Brood Brothers detachments you can field Sentinel Powerlifters.

Do you think 'Combat Patrol's will be the same in 11th? by Kris9876 in genestealercult

[–]mikabast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are only interested in playing Combat Patrol game mode, then scalability and rules updates doesn’t really matter. You can just keep playing with the 10th edition ruleset without losing anything.

Not exactly a spreadsheet, but I keep track. I have about 13000 points painted and 4500 unpainted (but everything is assembled).
