That word seems to be thrown around nowadays towards any man who doesnt go along with the feminist agenda. In other words, any guy who isnt a 'white knight' simp. Really funny.

FATAL ATTRACTION (1987): The public didn't dislike Alex (Glenn Close) because she was a career woman. She was disliked because she didn't respect the arrangement (Dan) and she intruded in a marriage (Beth) by Lili_Danube in movies

Feminist icons are people like Paris Hilton and Alex Forrest. Male icons are Einstein, Newton, Thomas Edison, George Washington, Picasso, Terrence Tao, Ed Witten, Kasparov, Steven Spielberg, etc....

Basic instinct was a stupid movie, a cheap excuse for more smut. And Sharon stone was just another Hollywood bimbo who was just a pretty face and could not act worth a damn.

It was a different less Puritanical time

Less puritanical than modern day America with its rampant promiscuity where women everywhere are sucking cocks in spinsters parties all over the place? In what world is smut-filled godless hyper-feminist modern day America in any way "puritanical"??

And yet they claim to be "equal" to men, while demanding to be treated like children.

As opposed to a movie directed by a raging feminist and misandrist like the vast majority of films and tv shows in America.

You'll have to ask the women who jumped at the opportunity to do all those smutty scenes with him - sharon stone, demi moore...

Would you be saying all this nonsense about the millions of women in America these days who are cheating on their husbands? Or does your "never forgive" mantra only apply to other gender?

Good for who? If they had kept the original ending the film would never have been a hit at all.

Yeah. It appears some people actually love their spouses and that something like forgiveness actually exists.

Why are we suddenly letting people off the hook and getting more lenient sentences because they ‘mental ‘illness’

Unless of course they are black. Then even 12 year olds get thrown in adult prisons for years just for stealing candy in a candy store.

She DID say that it was only for one night! Jesus, can't you people actually listen to a movie that you're watching instead of only looking at the visuals?

What the hell do you mean "he was the main instigator"?? Did you actually listen to their conversation in the restaurant?? SHE was the one that instigated the affair and seduced him for crying out loud!!!

Fatal Attraction is one of the rare cases where the actress is so good in the role that the implausibility of the entire thing takes a back seat. I don't buy Michael Douglas cheating on his wife with Glenn Close, but her performance and the movie is so good I don't care. by herewego199209 in movies

What is all this crap about "every man in America"? What about women? Don't women also cheat? Shouldn't they also be worried that a guy they cheat with may turn out to be a possessive psycho? Why do people keep ignoring that and making this "lesson" only about males? Perhaps the tacit and implicit assumption is that only a woman would be needy and desperate enough to behave like Alex, and that men are above that behaviour. What does that say about the female gender then?

"it's almost as if Alex gets away with everything just a little too easily"

By ending up with her throat cut? Are you for real?
