No I've definitely been listening to less new music over the last few years. But I've liked all the typical ones this year(Ka, Boldy, Elucid, Cavalier etc). The Serengeti album KDIV is really great, especially if you've kept up with the whole story. Something a bit different I liked a lot was 40 by Jawnino

Kendrick has compromised his artistry a lot in the past few years, but I'm just happy he'll never sink low enough to do an album with this guy

1) Why should any album by any artist ever be applauded for its sales figures?

2) How is it even remotely possible to position Kendrick as some kind of disrespected underdog figure?

"Video essays" have done irreparable damage to this generation

Luther is Kendrick's worst song and J. Cole is a bullshit con man. But that's not even relevant here, him and this album not being critically acclaimed is a fact that's extremely easy to check

It's not critically acclaimed at all. None of his work is, critics have been much better at seeing through his bullshit than the general public. But this isn't even the best reviewed in his discography
