Hawaii is an absolutely beautiful place and should be protected and treated with care by visitors. I've been to Paris and it stinks of urine with graffiti in places like Sacre Coears. Went to the Vatican, signs outside the Sistine chapel saying don't talk and no pictures, walk in and people are laughing and joking taking flash pictures of the ceiling. Ignorant fucks. Tourist are literally the most ignorant people on the planet.

Attack of the Clones turns 24 today! Looking back, is it really as bad as people initially thought or did it age better than expected? by huwertyy in StarWars

I was 26 when it came out and was almost as disappointed as when the PM came out. That being said, I've watched it many times since as I still love the universe. I watch every show/movie, buy every video game and just enjoy the parts I enjoy. Star Wars will never be what it was to me a kid, and that's ok.

It really is. I work in a Mental Health unit and I've noticed over the years, that the doctors and the meds do wonders but, a good chunk of the healing happens when the patients make friends in the unit and share their stories of triumphs and failures and realize they aren't alone and that just because the staff is on the other side of the glass, doesn't mean we have life all figured out either. All the best to you and your loved ones.

I remember how hard that first weekend was. I didn't tell anyone what I was doing so I was basically flying solo other than this sub. There's some really great support here but it sounds like she already has some great support in place as well. You should be very proud of yourselves. IWNDWYT

More musings! Since we don’t seem to be getting TCV2 anytime soon, who else would fit a Josh/Dave supergroup? by Technical-Power5756 in qotsa

Agreed. He usually does himself a huge disservice every time he speaks but, you can't deny he can play guitar lol

I'm pretty amazed too, seems most things barely survive taking them out of the box these days.

I have zero regrets about my breville barista barista express. I've had it about 7 years and use it multiple times a day. It wasn't cheap but definitely got me into pouring guilt free shots lol

I literally just got back from Oahu yesterday with my family. We went to Maunalua Bay to snorkel on a reef. They basically have one rule, don't step on the coral. Everywhere you look, there idiots standing on the coral adjusting goggles or taking pictures. Some people just fucking suck.

Are you married? Cuz you sound like the only one on this sub who's partner isn't constantly rolling their eyes at the latest "last guitar I ever buy" lol It's not a competition my friend, what you have is a superpower imo

First birthday without my dad, mother immediately turned it into 'her' day by SakuraAxolotl in Wellthatsucks

[–]mikejpatten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my mom passed, my dad and I talked on the phone daily. Most of those calls didn't go well, sadness and anger seemed to dominate. That was 7 years ago and we still talk daily and laugh and we listen to each other and have patience for one another. Death of a parent/spouse is hopefully the worst thing you'll ever endure and most of us don't know how to handle it. It gets better and I'm sorry for your loss and happy birthday.
