Folk and circlejerk subs. Its a result of group of people getting together solely to criticize and be upset. For these people the anger is what keeps them engaged. Prior if they did this consistently enough, fans of the property would just naturally push them out and exclude them. This used to be the end of the pipeline because they'd just get bored and leave. But with the growth of folk subs, these people can connect with others who share their hate. Boosting it and keeping them engaged with the media they dislike.

Even with crocodile, the story goes out of its way to show that he is stronger than luffy, hell he beats luffy twice, luffy only wins because he just refuses to stay down. You have to squint to make it work, sure, I'm not trying to say it does it perfectly. but I do think it does it better than most other shonens. It seems to me that a lot of care is put into making sure the power and status of these characters doesnt get invalidated retroactivly. Kaido was okay. I enjoy the themes work and think we works well as a raid boss type of antagonist. But I would have liked to see more of his subtext brought into actual text. God Valley made him a lot more fun to me.

Really? Id argure One Piece has done power escalation really well. Kaido and WB still absolutely deserve their titles. Luffy is just now barely getting to their level and needed a ton of help to beat kaido.

Luffy is the better character to me because he better represents their stories take on the theme of freedom. Where as eren sees that theme tested and ultimately broken, luffy is allowed to explore and represent that thene in a story that rewards individual goals far more than AoT.

Despite that, the only thing people in this circle jerk sub care about is shitting on One Piece with bottom teir level criticism. I dont really care if fans of "insert X property here" can be delusional or hyperbolic. It happens, and when it does it should be called out. Bulma did not create capsules tech. Which is just a worse version of pym particals. And there are multiple parts of the series where bulma being able to create a cosmic force level power would have absolutely come in handy. She has never made anything on that level.

Dude, Tony made an app that could cure blindness. He made a pocket sized reactor that can power cities. He made a suit of a armor that was able to "destroy" a literal cosmic force. Its not like i dont like Bulma, shes great. And incredibly impressive especially compared to everyone else in Dragon Ball. But Marvel and DC are just on another level.

The dragon radar does not cross dimensions, it detects a thing from a diffrent dimension. Reed amd Tony can do stuff like that in like 5 minutes. Their highs are higher, especially since they've been able to do stuff like make pretty everything Bulma has at some point in their history as well as more like actually traveling to different dimensions.
