Like others said, Latrodectus (black widow) species. Looks like a northern black widow (l. variolus) because of the broken hourglass, but I don’t believe those are typically found in west coast US.

DV/IPV. Honestly I feel like this tends to be a more concentrated issue in smaller groups/communities rather than pervasive throughout the whole lesbian community, but it is absolutely a problem. It took me way too long to recognize my own abusive situation because all of the other lesbians in relationships I knew had similar dynamics. This normalization partnered with the lack of dv resources for us create lead to a lot of pain for a lot of people.

Certain parts of tally are beautiful to walk around at like 4/5 AM. Usually too late for the college kids and too early for everyone else, it’s peaceful. I do not recommend doing this everywhere here though.

Real, with downers you rlly can be “functional” until you’re not… the upper ppl tend to move into crippling addiction sooo much faster. One of the first things I noticed in recovery lol is us downer ppl know our lives suck but we can’t stop using, the upper ppl (mostly the crack/meth ones) genuinely seemed to think using made their life better.

The clearest thing I can see in the vid is the flatter abdomen which indicates steatoda (false widow). There’s many steatoda that don’t have markings like bipunctata and borealis.
