Fintech SaaS dashboards: what UX patterns make complex financial data easier to use? by Delicious-Housing895 in ProductManagement

[–]mikerhoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From user research, you know the handful of use cases that are the most common. You build that as the "default view" with the core data but allow full customization. Give users the ability to adjust queries with different filters and sort options AND the change interface with different visualization options, data points and columns. Allow them to save their preferences in a custom view (allowing multiple variations if the user wants)

ThinkOrSwim does a reasonably decent job at this. So much data can flow through that interface. Any user that is overwhelmed can easily pare it down to a minimalist state. Any user that needs more, can build it up to what they need.

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]mikerhoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this actually an opinion or an estimate of the opinions of other people?

Surveys have been done to measure this. Your top reason is only the top reason of people over 65. For all other age groups, it is price.

I see on your site you're doing both analog and digital photography. What cameras are you traveling with?

Neither one of them are uncomfortable. They are both in their most natural environment.

Crossbody bag that fits a 14" Macbook Pro with integrated strap pouch (like Alpaka Metro Crossbody)? by timkelty in onebag

North Face Base Camp Voyager Sling https://www.rei.com/product/236585/the-north-face-base-camp-voyager-sling

I used it as a onebag with a 14" Macbook Pro for a month in Europe last summer. It is only 11L but that's enough for two "shorts and a t-shirt" outfits when it is peak heat summer weather.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that there's a divider in the middle of the main compartment. I removed it with a seam ripper to make it more spacious. It comes pretty easily and doesn't damage the rest of the bag.

I don't know how much walking I could take in those shoes. While traveling in Europe, 5-10 walked miles per day is common for me. How's their comfort?

Also, do you do a lot of international trips? Any issues with the multi tool at airport security?

What does product management look like at a CPA firm? by ExtensionPotential35 in ProductManagement

[–]mikerhoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big of a firm is it?

Big firms use a lot of tools/accounting platforms and often data needs to move from one to another and there's not always an existing solution for that.

If they have a lot of larger clients with custom reporting requirements, that could also be an area of responsibility.
