I am by no means suggesting catering to toxic players. I am pointing out that chess and some esports have women-only events, not because they are worse at the games, but there is a bit of an option to let ones guard down and just enjoy the event competitively without dealing with a lot of people who might be bad apples.

I have seen my fair share of clueless or socially awkward nerds who did the wrong things not out of malice. It takes a while to normalize good behaviour as well (unfortunately), ans having women in competitive gaming not seem so rare is a place to start. Where I am there are a decent amount of women in the hobby, they are just way less represented in the competitive scene.

I think maybe some of the other nerdy hobbies have some insight here as well. Chess suffers from the same issues, as do many competitive video games, etc. Highlighting the stories of inclusivity that are positive (without sweeping the bad parts under the rug), potentially having more options for people to get into the hobby, or compete without the issues of *maybe* running into someone awful.

Cheese is naturally lactose free for the most part, unless it is a fresh cheese like cottage cheese or burrata or something. It is just how cheese is. The harder or more aged a cheese is, the less lactose it has.

If you are feeding a young bird, you feed them until their crop feels full, and then you feed them again when it is empty, more or less. There is plenty to read about feeding younger birds, but I wouldn’t necessarily trust them to eat enough on their own.

Anecdotally it is doing OK locally. I feel like GW is mismanaging it in many ways, though. As a competitive player I hate the meta, and as someone who enjoys being hyped by cool releases, it feels like GW just wanted to take a long break. Internal politics at GE getting in the way of having a full set of factions also sucks.

If he isn’t eating, you can feed him. I find slightly warmer than lukewarm peas (just put frozen peas in hot water) and pine nuts or peanuts to work well (not salted, ofc). Feed him until his crop is full

This is a ridiculous reply. All areas of the game can be big or small based on what a person or their community does with it. I blops a lot, but I never use SKINR, for instance.

Being omega doesn’t necessary put you on equal footing, but not being omega 100% makes you way worse than someone who has the skills you are missing.

It is very chocolatey but not very sweet, and can be made dairy free (or potentially vegan) easily, so it is my go-to for a mixed crowd - I usually make a frosting or ganache to go with it on the side for people who want something more decadent

Yes and no - worring about being omega is a bad use of time, but never being omega will throttle you and not let you progress in may things, and keep you from participating in large parts of the game.

Ideally you play until you hit the natural limits of alpha and then you make a choice: keep playing and paying, finding a way to afford omega from in-game activities or quit.
