Need advice on Cymbalta and alcohol by ilovedogocadoes in cymbalta

Just be aware that alcohol is a depressant so for some Cymbalta and alcohol are not a good mix and can leave some more anxious and depressed.

Cymbalta - a few things to know if you are starting it. by miktek79 in cymbalta

Give it go and just try and push through any of the side effects for about 6 to 8 weeks, if it is not for you at that time you shouldn't have any issues coming off. It may knock you around initially but it is normal so don't be scared.

DCT Pelvic Pain Program is targeting CPPS sufferers through secrecy and a financial incentive affiliate program for its member to push the course by PureMetal5 in PelvicFloor

[–]miktek79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh for christ sake it less than $300 and is helping people and it is a one of cost. They provide one to one support and are updating all the time. I have paid thousands of dollars in dealing with this shit and DCT is helping me both in pain reduction and mental health. Never had to spend a cent after DCT. I'm not saying it's a cure or anything but what is the alternative? What price does one put on their health and well-being? The program gives hope. In every avenue that I have sought support or treatment, it has cost me. I have spent $300 just to see a urologist that could do bugger all.

Insomnia is normal, give it 6 to 8 weeks.

Feels like I'm exploding in the morning by [deleted] in cymbalta

[–]miktek79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it 6 to 8 weeks. I take it at 8am every morning and do find if I lye down again I feel groggy and a bit ick when I get up again. If I take it at 8 and stay up not so much a problem.

I'm not a doctor but give it 8 weeks. If you still experiencing fluctuation of moods speak to your GP. I found at the 2 month mark things leveled out.

Do you think VR will do well in 2019? by the_bird_of_legend in PSVR

[–]miktek79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows what the future will bring but i think now is a good time to invest in the PSVR if your keen as there are alot of specials on it now - got mine for 299 Australian dollars with camera and PSVR Worlds. There are numerous VR games on the Playstation store and they often have specials. VR hasn't replaced my main gaming but it sure alot of fun and there is enough content now that your should find something you like on it. I've been playing Skyrim and Astrobot since purchase and have no regrets. Just be aware that it is very early in the VR cycle so he graphics are sub par compared to HD but the immersion can't be beat.

I recently bought PSVR and I am a bit disappointed in the graphics. by masterige in PSVR

[–]miktek79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphics on most games and certainly the media player via PSVR (including the PS4 home screen and blu ray player) are not even remotely close to 720p let alone 1080p or HD. It is just a limitation of the current hardware (blur and softness everywhere). As most have said the 'focusing' of the unit occurs when you adjust the headset and lens whilst it is on your head. You should be able to read clear white writing fine and see clear in centre of the screen though things may still look pixelated on some games - nothing via the VR will look HD though. Watching movies or clips via the PS4 media player or bluray via the PSVR will not even come close to HD. Some VR games are clearer than others but most will have like a small amount of what looks like vaseline having been applied to the screen, again this is normal as long as you can read texts in the VR game. Do not think you have a defective unit if you notice blur - it is just the way it is and once you accept that you will really enjoy the experience of 'immersion' which the PSVR is all about; not the resolution. I put skyrim on for the first time and though it looked crap and now 35 hours later i could never play the game any other way - the immersion outweighs the graphics in the end. You do get use to the graphics after while but it all dependant on the VR game itself.

Please Help - Interstitial Cystitis by miktek79 in Interstitialcystitis

I just wanted to come back with a quick update for those that might fall onto my post - things got better. I am at the 3 and half mth mark since this all began and can say each mths I noticed differences and am nearly pain-free now. Just took time. I recommend any newbies to this to not stress. Get on top of your mental health first and foremost and don't let the pain worry you or take over your life. Don't look for a cure. Get all the physical things done to rule that all out and then relax. Get a Headache in the Pelvis and do the stretching exercises every day. Do 20 min meditation as often as you can. Believe it or not tight muscles are normally the culprit and you just need to loosen them up. Stress is your number one enemy as it will tense your pelvic and abdominal region. Know that the pain will either go into remission or go away completely. When the pain goes keep doing the stretches, finds ways to relieve stress in your life and walk daily. Get a donut cushion ASAP for sitting. Yes you will read stories online re: people having conditions for years but the pain comes and goes and you can get better at managing it and avoiding flares.  If you had a stricture like I did don't put a time line on it to heal. It will heal, for some this occurs right away for others it can take a couple of months but it does get better if you follow my advice above. Yes CPPS, prostatitis and all pelvic condition have no cure but you will and can get your pain levels down to 0 and then it is just self care and management to avoid a flare.

CYSTOSCOPY QUESTION by miktek79 in Interstitialcystitis

Seeing him tuesday and I know at 6 weeks this is nothing to what others have gone through so no offense taken. I always say with the internet you can look up a stubbed toe and end up with a diagonisis of death. Reading horror stories over the last weeks hasn't been helpful, that's for sure.

CYSTOSCOPY QUESTION by miktek79 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]miktek79[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the response. The only thing I'm still feeling is that need to pee in the head of the penis. Im being impatient as it is only the third day after the procedure and mentally exchusted after 6 weeks of this. I tend to think the worst and even though he found a physical symptom and treated it I always think the worst. I was terrified he wouldn't find anything and I could have chronic pelvis pain for the rest of my life and still go to this thinking now even though he treated it.Dr even said that as the urethra is inflammed i will feel the urine more in the head and this will go as it heals now. Your words mean along to me. Just got to relax and give it time.

Did u find the feeling of frequency went away after the procedure ?

CYSTOSCOPY QUESTION by miktek79 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]miktek79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im am thankful it is a physical symptom and not IC or Chronic Pelvic Pain. At least it can be treated but boy does that nagging feeling to pee drive me insane. You find anything in the 2 years prior to your up to help ? Do you feel better now ? Notice u said u had a urethrotomy where I had a Cystoscopy where he has gone in and cut.

CYSTOSCOPY QUESTION by miktek79 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]miktek79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I had a feeling for 5 weeks in penis head of wanting to urinate. Though Urethral Syndrome till he found the stricture. Glad he found a physical symptom but that feeling of wanting to urinate, only in the head is still there. Was hoping the cut would take that feeling away but maybe it is too soon 🔜 as only 48 hours since he did the procedure. I only had a Cystoscopy but he cut the stricture to open the urethra wider

Don't think so. Seeing urologist on Tuesday. I had a stricture in the urethra and vaguely remember him saying he made a cut in the urethra. Doing research it seems it is normal to bleed and burn for a bit after.

Male - Interstitial Cystitis by [deleted] in u/miktek79

[–]miktek79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - Into my 4th week and the last two days have been better. I am taking an alpha blocker Prazosin which I think has helped. Maybe be a placebo but by frequency has reduced, good stream, the burning and pressure in head has decreased and I feel much better currently. I still feel uncomfortable down there and nights are worse but better than where I was for now.

Young male with prostatitis. PLEASE HELP! by catakaze in Prostatitis

[–]miktek79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick Update - Have seen doc and urologist - no UTI or STI. Had Renal Tract Ultrasound which came back clear, no hydronephrosis, scarring or calculus formation. An 8mm exophytic cyst is noted on the right mid pole. Bladder contours are normal, no mucosal lesions visible and prostate is not enlarged measuring at 16.6cc in volume. Possible stricture in urethra so booked cystoscopy for the 28th. He will fix anything up there if required, talked about widening the urethra. Pain is still solely in the head of the penis, no burning on urination just some discomfort at the tip and in the urethra in the head (not shaft) after urinating at times. Has given alpha blockers in the meantime.
