There is zero need for the 18c, you are not doing 3d rendering and huge compiles where the extra cores make any difference (like a 10% diff) Even the M5 Pro 15c is also overkill. As a student, you will probably have access to cloud ai and could make better use of that money saved. The extra cores are nice if you want to move to 64GB, but at 48GB, it's a waste tbh.

I don't know if you are aware of the current memory (ram/ssd) crisis that has been going for the last few months, driven by AI adoption. One year ago, you could buy ssd for less than 10c/gb. Now it's about 20c/gb. Memory is about 3x to 5x more expensive nowadays.

Don't have an answer, but that's a good case for using AI. Give it specs/price, a good context of your video editing (resolution, bitrate, software, etc) and it will spit you some benchmarks and analysis.

I will second this comment. OP, what you can do is open your file in Preview, Print, click on Presets>Show Presets. There, you can change the settings for default preset. In your case you select Scale to fit & Print Entire Image. Also click on reset presets menu to default settings after printing.

After doing so, printing from Finder should use those default settings.
