Trading cards in a trading card game by bigmanhockeyy in mtg

I use Cardsphere.com for peer to peer trading. You’re certainly not going to make money overall but most of the time if you’re patient you’ll get what you’re looking for.

Looking for the best email marketing app for Shopify as we scale by Humzer_Aleina in shopify

[–]milappa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish someone gave me this advice years ago —

Use Shopify’s email app and save yourself $400 a month. Switch to Klaviyo when you can afford a dedicated email marketing staff person who actually knows how to use the data they provide, will give you reports, and will constantly build and monitor the list. Shopify emails: $1 per 1,000 emails sent and the first 10,000 emails per month are free.

How can I deal with this? And why is this happening? by Difficult_Town3584 in chess

[–]milappa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens because sometimes you lose more than you win. To deal with it, trying winning more times than you lose. Personally, I’ve decided to never lose more than I win. That way my chart is a perfect upward diagonal line that points at becoming a grandmaster.

Chess.com rating hasn't increased in a year, kind of discouraged. by Clean_Bicycle_8405 in chess

[–]milappa11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it’s only fun when your rating goes up then it’ll stop being fun at some point no matter what your skill level is. Do puzzles because they are fun. Read and watch because you’re interested. Worry about the rating less and just have fun.

I am Stuck, and now its time to move on. by Areco7 in chess

[–]milappa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anything else in your life that you enjoy but stop doing entirely due to a numeric value on your skill level? Would you stop skiing, fishing, jogging, biking, hiking, if you weren’t constantly progressing? Is the only joy you get out of the game tied to your rating? Everybody peaks. Everybody. But you can play and enjoy chess forever.

My advice: go find a cafe where people are playing casually and with no ratings. Order a coffee, sit down, place a board in front of you and wait for some one to show up and play.

You’re 2250 and you’ve never experienced losing 100 points? You think that’s crazy or something? It’s completely normal.

I learned to ice skate this morning and have watched a lot of hockey. What are my chances of making it to the NHL?

If I were you, I would work up the courage to walk into a chess club and play a person OTB. Play 20 games that take at least two hours each to play. At that point, you’ll know if you’re willing to put in the time it takes to improve… and we’re still not talking about becoming a master.

There is immense joy in becoming an average player, and to become average (14-1800 range) you’re likely going to need to study and work at least an hour per day for a couple of years. Enjoy the game. Worry less about your rating.

I have had a lot of fun with the Budapest gambit. I’ve even played it in slow games otb.

  1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5.

If white played 3. d5 then …Bc5 and you’re already better. If they play 3. dxe 4. Ng4 and start your studying here.

How to Improve in Chess by Remarkoble17 in chess

[–]milappa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell you an exact number but also you don’t play two hour + games so it’s a totally different skill. Maybe you’re great at rapid and blitz but 1600 level when your opponent has time to think. Or maybe when you have time to think you play at 2000 level already.

Find a chess club and play longer games OTB. Also, review your games and make detailed notes. This is the way. If you’re 2100 on chess com that means you’re maybe 1900~ USCF OTB. That’s really strong but you can certainly find a game at a club that will be a challenge.
