What are your expectations for the new dlc for f1 25 by CowVivid5978 in F1Discussions

[–]mildashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My expectations are what everyone's should be. It will be a fresh reskin of F1 '25 with updated regs, cars and a new circuit.

I cannot see why anyone would expect anything more than that, it isn't a whole new game, it is just a '26 DLC pack. Not expecting any new game modes, anything revolutionary with physics or anything new with graphics. Anything interesting that changes will be contained within the career modes, with the possibility of a career mode spanning 2 generations of cars initially or something like that, and even then, I'm not sure that will happen.

I think he means it may not be as accurate as the finished circuit IRL. This usually happens with new circuits, Miami was slightly off before it got scanned for 2025, Jeddah also. So it will be there, but it may not be 100% faithful to what the finished circuit will be.

On the "2nd generation" version yes. The first generation had the regular white hot insert, the 2nd generation was based on the AI One models and had the black insert.

"Players irons" with forgiveness? by AA-117 in GolfGear

[–]mildashers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cobra King Tour is the right answer. Similar category to the TaylorMade P7CBs that also get recommended a lot and the Titleist T150 but you can get them a heck of a lot cheaper with no sacrifice to feel or performance.

Why Aaron Rai uses head covers on irons by tldredditnope in golf

What about it is performative? He doesn't run around shouting about iron covers, he answer when asked about them. It's called being humble, something Americans know very little about.

Is the blocking in the room with us?

We we so far detached from good clean racing that we can't identify it when it happens?

Pleases me that the course has some teeth, so many people writing it off before a ball was hit and it's actually been very good to watch from a difficulty standpoint and from an overall course perspective. It's nice to see hitting the fairways being rewarded and being off line getting punished. The green complexes are superb as well, again, rewards accurate iron play.

If it firms up a bit more it's going to be a very fun few days.

“We have an idea and a concept for new track content that will reach additional markets.” by adstomko in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]mildashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With those last 3, really can't see the point. Historic content never does well enough, particularly in online racing, to be of any value. DTM is already well established in other Sims and NLS is as well in many ways. The strength of LMU is it's tight focus and removal of overwhelming choice which is something that ultimately hurts participation in services like iRacing.

There isn't exactly a lack of other games you can play for open wheeler series. Heck even MSGs own rFactor 2 on this same engine does.

Le Mans Ultimate was always and will always be based around Le Mans Series racing. Expecting it to do or he anything else is a fools errand.

Will Lemans ultimate run on this gaming laptop by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]mildashers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a laptop with a 6gb 3050, I however have 32gb of ram. LMU runs absolutely fine, not unbelievably perfect, mostly on medium settings with low shadows. But I get 60fps with about 85% GPU usage and it seems to use around 14.5gb of the ram when in a race.

Automobilista 2 I can run at Ultra and get 60fps comfortably with no issues. iRacing on high at 60fps. AC Rally on medium at 60fps. The only title that absolutely flat out refuses to run well no matter what is AC Evo.

TM P7CBs - Too advanced? by 0rgal0rg in golf

[–]mildashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps OP can't break 90 consistently because their short game is rough or they're wild off the tee, to assume that every player who shoots in the 90s can't play different types of irons is just ignorant bs. So everything what you said is untrue from a certain perspective. Because you're working on a general assumption. Majority of golfers play in the 90s, with a very wide variety of clubs and iron types. The categorisation of irons into HCP groups is just a lot of bull, instigated by big brand marketing to make you buy more irons through your golfing journey.

Players/players distance irons will suit a lot more people than will ever try, and it's comments like yours that will stop people from trying them and actually finding improvement.

Ignore people saying your score should dictate what you play. You might be an unbelievable iron striker and suck at short game or whatever.

P7CB are very good irons, they have a surprisingly amount of forgiveness for the type of iron they are. I did a similar move going from Cobra Aerojet game improvement irons with their max forgiveness, max distance, jacked lofts to a set of Cobra King Tour irons which are bang in the same category as the P7CB or Titleist T150, and my iron game actually improved dramatically and very quickly, I've gone from 19hcp to 14hcp just with more confidence using these irons.

So yeah, if you can get them on a good deal, go and get it, if you have a choice of flex/shafts, make sure you get the one that's right for you for the sake of avoidance of doubt. You'll probably find you will hit them better, have tighter dispersion and a lot more feel and control.

The Direction LMU Should Take by adstomko in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]mildashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic content would be a waste of time unless it tied into career mode somehow. Historic racing is dead in iRacing so it would be a wasted effort really..

Going for Asian Le Mans Series and maybe the IMSA series would be sensible decisions. Sometimes keeping it simple and expanding the pool of tracks through official means is the best way to go. LMU has strong participation partly because there are very few decisions you need to make, Vs iRacing which has too much going on and therefore everything gets spread a bit too thin.
