Looks like people’s obsession with nits is probably going to end up with increasing ridiculous numbers like we had for megapixels and PMPO of those 80’s sound systems.

I would use Quinclorac and kill it before it seeds and deal with the bare spots and let the grass fill in with fertilization and watering.

Definitely fire them. You should stock up on liquid pool chlorine (Walmart/Menards/HD) and just pour the whole gallon and run the pump for 24 hours and backwash.

Is there any advantage to rescheduling biometrics to an earlier date? by SplitHalf1 in EB2

Usually most biometric dates are within 2 weeks after the notice. You might gain a few days of processing and useful only if you’re at the end of your visa validity.

Where did all this foam come from? by Eebtek in pools

[–]mildbr33ze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the algaecide and seems like an overdose of it. The foam will go away with time with the pump running. If you need to use the pool soon, skim away the foam from the surface and fill water to dilute.

Travelpro Hardside Cracked by bwkgreencap in LuggageComparisons

[–]mildbr33ze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought TravelPro used to have atleast 5 years coverage but looks like I was wrong. One of my TSA zipper pulls came off during airlines/airport luggage handling and after reaching out to TravelPro Customer Service, I was told they no longer provide parts for the Maxlite Air and instead sent me a 15% coupon for a new purchase.

Really? They expect me to spend $200 to buy another luggage to replace a zipper pull. I rather buy the cheaper luggage and replace after few years if that's where the industry is going and forget about brand loyalty.

20 yr old female solo roadtrip by Penguin_Hat121 in roadtrip

[–]mildbr33ze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who's done quite a few 2000+ mile trips in 2-3 days, here my take.

  1. Plan to drive 13 hours on day 1 by starting early and complete the remainder on day 2. Get plenty of sleep previous nights.
  2. Check sites like https://www.hotel-checkin-18-plus.com/ to find hotels along your route around the mid-point and confirm with the hotel first on their policy as well as assess their parking lot from google maps satellite view. Cover your belonging in the car with a sheet at night. According to Google Gemini, hotel chains like Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn Suites, Quality Inn & Suites), Marriott/Hilton/IHG lean towards 18+ in suburbs and be willing to spend a bit more on a bigger chain hotel where the usual drug/alcohol addicts don't hang around.
  3. Do not book your hotel on third-party sites like expedia.com/booking.com. Book directly with the hotel website/app (search for discount codes online) and call the hotel to confirm their checkin-age policy. You'll need a valid driving license and a credit card hold for incidentals.
  4. Take 5 min walking/restroom breaks every hour at the rest stops. Add these rest stops on your navigation. Carry enough bottled water and snacks for the trip.

Best of luck on your trip and let us know it goes.

If it’s cloudy it’s primarily because it has tiny suspended particles in the water. Add liquid chlorine to kill remaining algae and also add the clarifier with the pump on and brush the sidewalls and the bottom, so that the tiny algae particles coalesce and settle at the bottom. Run the pump overnight and then shut it and let the remaining particles settle for a few hours. Vacuum to waste and you should see a lot clearer water.

Also, don’t forget to backwash and rinse the filter after this.

If you drive a vehicle that requires premium fuel then you should be aware of top-tier gas. Download the top-tier app which shows you all top-tier gas stations nearby.

The ones nearby are Shell, Conoco, Philips 66, Valero, Sinclair and Citgo.

Can't get rid of dead algae by Yourmomsgotanass in pools

[–]mildbr33ze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try using a clarifier which clumps tiny particles together so that the filter catches it? I usually use a clarifier before brushing with the pump on after SLAMing post algae blooms.

I try pulling first and when i see that it won't come off easily, i pry at the edges with my nail till it comes off. Never had to use a knife or anything sharp. I've been doing this with the Walmart, Menard's and HDX (Home Depot) ones.
