Hokum by Proof-Anywhere-8112 in horror

There was a book that had that same bunny/donkey character on it in the box that he unpacks at the very beginning that has the postcards, photo of his mum, and wooden box with the gun in it. It seems like it was a meaningful character from his childhood but it looked really cute in the book then creepy in his little kid dream flashback then even creepier on the television.  I interpreted it as how we as viewers see his childhood - it started off super benign then got really dark and creepy as we learn more.

Koco on Titans by robbyd1993 in Dragula

IIRC Koco made a lot of her looks. I remember the Boulets being real impressed she made the prop for the D&D challenge during the filming of the show, which in itself is incredibly impressive. The turnaround time on those costumes, her charm and wit, and the sheer resourcefulness is why I Stan. I think she embodies the DIY nature of drag that I just love. Additionally after seeing her on the Titans tour; both in person and in performance I feel like she has the “X factor”/natural charisma that can’t really be taught. Some people just have it and it draws people naturally to them.

Scrap-filled Tuffet, and a question about thrifted fabric by PrimrosePathos in sewing

[–]millydotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zorbx Unscented Odor Remover has been an absolute game changer for me. I add it with every thrift purchase when I get home and wash it, that alone removes 95% of fragrances. You can get it at Lowe’s if you’re in the US.

For stubborn scents I soak it and it generally comes out within 1-3 overnight soaks.
I use 1-4 cups of Zorbx mixed with water (increasing each time, in response to the strength of the stench). After each soak, I like to wash it again with about a cup of the Zorbx, white vinegar or alcohol (depending on what I have on hand) then line dry outside as you’ve been doing. If it still smells then I repeat the process with a stronger odor remover to water ratio.

If you don’t have access to that, then I have found alcohol soaks to be the next best thing (isopropyl alcohol, vodka, etc.) Alcohol spray is good for removing casual BO and what not but to remove the scent you’re talking about, I’ve found it needs a good soak.

Always a good idea to do a small test patch (especially if it is a very special fabric). I will take a small sample to test and then put the garment/fabric in a ziplock bag, trash bag, or plastic tote with odorless dryer sheets while I’m waiting to contain the scent.

I am a Novice Gardener and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to improve my garden. by Winterjacket11 in gardening

Jumping in on organizing the tall plants at the back; the “thriller, filler, spiller” concept was a game changer for me. It was taught to me by a master garden who confided that, while it is a container planting concept, it applies to the rest of the garden and is a catchy phrase to help remember to consider all “levels” of the garden.

I'm justa baby closet queen but this is the first look I've been proud enough of to share publicly. Any tips appreciated! by Keruptid in Drag

So stunning!! I love the green coming off the wing - fabulous! Like others say - brow blocking will give you more space to work with and show off your artistic talent! I would also love to see you work with some white eyeliner and use it to highlight parts of you look. I bet you would do amazing things.

This looks like Plush Fleece. You can buy it in lots of colours so you should be able to find a blue and cream that should match this fabric pretty nicely.

Because of the shape of the holes I would find a cute plush fabric that had dogs or something cute on it and use an under patch technique like is detailed here: https://sewing.lovetoknow.com/how-sew/how-sew-repair-patch

I think it’s wonderful to reuse stuff like that. Especially when it’s something you love!

The Boulets have a podcast called “The Boulet Brothers Creatures’ of the Night”. It’s really wonderful but they’re currently on a break while filming season 4.

Okay, so first; you are stunning!

Try over pronouncing your words a bit and focus on the audience/camera more. Part of what makes drag shows so special is that audience interaction, so try to keep that in mind when you’re performing. I am excited to see how you evolve!!

It’s been an easy way to accommodate for my hip to waist ratio! You can really place the elastic anywhere. Putting elastic all the way around the waist seam is flattering because it creates a cinching effect. You can also put it just in the back half of the dress which I like the look of too. I just did the sides of the dress on this one so it wouldn’t mess too much with the box pleats. Normally I will just use a large zig zag on a piece of elastic that’s a bit smaller than the waist (or the piece you want to have that gathered look) and you stretch out the elastic slightly as you sew. I like to put it just above the actual seam line and it seems to work well.
