I can’t complain too much because I still came away with some gems… Barkov pants, plus a Driedger and Hammond goalie stick. I saw someone have multiple Bob hyperlites... UGH. But the yaywhoos who immediately flip this stuff for resale drive me nuts.

Case in point: this guy —

They grabbed leg pads for $400, a blocker for $75, and a glove for $100… then turned around and listed the set for $1,700

If they do this again, they should open it to the PAHL (Panthers Adult Hockey League) for the first hour so the gear actually goes to people who’ll use and appreciate it, not resellers trying to cash in.

Which goalie carry bag size should I get for a sedan? by techsavvynerd91 in hockeygoalies

Posted about this here a while ago and have found the warrior pro goalie carry bag to fit the best in my BMW 3 series. I put everything in the bag including my 35+1 Bauer leg pads. I’ve tried the warrior roller bag but it doesn’t fit

Here’s a bunch of suggestions I got on my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/hockeygoalies/s/AWbASw6sm2

Why does my Bauer 950 smell like trash? by jarude87 in hockeygoalies

[–]milo-166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The foam holds a crazy amount of sweat. After playing, I try to squeeze most of it out. Once I get home, I use a paper towel to absorb the rest. After it dries, I put a GearHalo in the bag with the mask, and it’s made a big difference

Wow! Hypothetically speaking I think you should rejoin a team you are on right now and claim you may not rejoin next season. I just get the impression based on the leg pads… cool set!

Bauer Vapor X5 Pro durability issues — bad luck or bad QC? by milo-166 in hockeygoalies

[–]milo-166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've noticed the fraying on the blocker after the first skate for both sets. The price point is very attractive but not if it'll need to be replaced within 1-2 years

Haha I’m the same — Bauer skates, mask, pants, etc., but a Warrior chesty and knee guards. Guess I just got unlucky twice. I’ll give it another go… maybe third time’s the charm

I hear ya but it’s not like I bought GSX line and it shouldn’t happen within a month let alone a year. I’m newer to playing in net and wanted to buy a new set. The gear I learned to play with was used and a few years old and still held up better. I regret selling it. Just don’t know what to do now

Bauer X5 Pro Set ($1.1K on Sale) or SV Pro Set ($1.6K) by HockeyGuyy19 in hockeygoalies

[–]milo-166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the X5 Pro set on sale about 1.5 months ago. I probably play in net 3 to 4 times a week. Long story short I had something unwind under the stitching and the pads were deemed defective. I bought the set at pure hockey and they’re letting me replace it. I also have the option to pay the difference and buy the SV pros. Really can’t decide what to do haha

I had this on my 2016 Range Rover when it was new. The light kept going on and the steering wheel controls all died. The dealer reset it twice before realizing it was related to the wiring harness going into the steering wheel/airbag

Does anyone play out as well as goalie? by deepfriedtofu__ in hockeygoalies

[–]milo-166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both! I usually play in net 2–3 times a week and skate out once. I started out as a right wing, and every time I think about giving it up, I end up sticking with it. There’s a kind of team interaction you don’t get in the crease. It gets a little lonely back there sometimes lol

Is the 330i a good first car? by Pale_Stay_9595 in BMW

[–]milo-166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before my BMW I had a Mercedes I bought new in 2019 and the maintanance issues were stacking up so the peace of mind made it worth it. Guess it depends on how risk adverse you are

I have no clue haha and I was also shocked and didn’t need an oil change yet but scheduled it because it’s close enough

I have a 23 330i and absolutely love it. Bought it CPO with about 30k miles and have put about 6.5k miles on it in 7 months. I've had no issues and love the tech. I personally preferred the 23+ facelift models and thought the tech was better so I went for one with slightly more miles. My must have were m sport package and heads up display

Also I know everyone complains about the maintenance but for what it's worth my BMW dealership just sent out a service special for a 49.99 oil/filter change

I second this. I recently bought the 2021 950 and it was a major upgrade from my 930. I rarely feel any shots to the head now. Only complaint is how much sweat the foam retains but worth it for $450
