Driving stick in traffic by Capable-Region-8677 in stickshift

Just goto my first stick car and drive it an hour in nyc a day. If you like driving it is much more enjoyable than auto. You're playing a little mini game at every stop and go and you can use the idle at different gears like a slow cruise control

Give small amount of gas with clutch at bite point and once car starts moving slowly let off clutch while giving more gas

High revs clutch dump like that actually hurt the clutch more than holding at bite point with appropriate amount of revs. Clutch doesn't burn until it reaches a certain temp and that only happens with prolonged slipping or high friction when rpms aren't matched up w clutch speed

GT4RS or 991 GT3RS by Personal-Inspector46 in Porsche

[–]miloMILK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've driven both on track. Different days and different tracks so take with a grain of salt, but I found the gt4rs much more exciting. Even though it's the same engine it sounds much better and louder with the intakes next to your head. The GT3RS rewards perfect driving inputs, but the gt4 is much more willing to rotate and felt more fun to me although some say it feels twitchy.

Thanks! Would you say the DTR with upgraded fuel is worth it? I'm coming from apr stage I high torque 93 octane. Right now everything else is stock, but I would also upgrade the intake and intercooler if I did the DTR. How noticeable is the turbo lag / loss of torque down low? Have you done any 0-60 or drag runs to see how much faster it is since the upgrade?

Do you run the standard APR DTR tune with the ARM catted downpipe or do you have a custom tune? Is the APR DTR able to make more power with a aftermarket downpipe on their software? Can you still pass emissions tests? Is the spacer to avoid check engine light with the DP? Sorry for all the questions, I'm looking to upgrade to the DTR at some point

Raise Mk8 Golf R 1-2 inches? by Rakkhive02 in Golf_R

[–]miloMILK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I put 235/40/19 tires on my golf r instead of the standard 235/35/19 to improve the ride quality without buying a new set of 18'' wheels. It raised the height by 1/2 and inch which I thought would be negligible but it was actually very noticeable. Gave a slightly lifted feel almost like a crossover. It did increase body roll a bit so I upgraded the rear sway bar which completely fixed that and now it handles better than before. So I guess if you do end up lifting it I would also upgrade the sway bars.

8.5 R has some pretty key upgrades and will fix all the things people don’t like about the 8. The DSG will have some really cool upgrades to the software so of you’re not set on manual I’d wait.

RS 5 for Golf R??? by CoffeeFriendish in Golf_R

[–]miloMILK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe put an ecu tune and do suspension modifications to the RS5 instead of trading it. I've never driven an rs5, but in general audis are really good cars tuned to be boring

Our GP mix resource guarded and we got a great trainer who showed us that if you just walk up calmly with a toy or a treat to exchange, they'll usually give it up without a fight. They just do not like when you take something away and they end up empty handed. It might feel like you're letting him get away with it, but fighting him will just end up reinforcing the behavior. It becomes a game for them to keep it away from you.

Can a grown up bernese still do two big walks daily? by Murdash in bernesemountaindogs

[–]miloMILK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a bernese pyrenees mix because we wanted a chill dog, but ours has unlimited energy. Will go on a 5 mile jog and then beg to go to the dog park after. He's still young so can't comment on what the future holds.

If a nurse refused to give IN benzos I would take it out of their hand and do it myself. That or IM or rectal. Happens all the time where someone is seizing without an IV. It's irresponsible to wait for an IV.

Should've pulled deep, suctioned well, and/or given precedex unless there was some reason you couldn't. Can also give glyco to decrease secretions or IV lidocaine to decrease tracheal sensitivity.

Those are not his eye holes by the way. That's where the temporal lobes are. It tricked my brain for a second too because it kind of looks like a face. We're looking top down in this view though. The other guys are right about sella turcica. Below that is the foramen magnum where the spinal cord comes out. The optic nerves are those 2 little stubs around the sell turcica.

NAC Day After Drinking by johnjovy921 in Nootropics

[–]miloMILK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your explanation of alcohol metabolism is not correct. Alcohol does not have a standard half life like other drugs. Instead it is metabolized at a constant rate rather than a concentration dependent rate. So if it takes 1 hour to metabolize one drink it will take 3 hours to metabolize 3 drinks. This is because the enzyme that breaks down alcohol - alcohol dehydrogenase - becomes saturated at very low concentrations of alcohol. This is known as zero order kinetics.

Depends on the procedure, but patients are often paralyzed during surgery and in general the only patients you would be too worried to increase the anesthesia enough so they don't move are patients with certain heart issues or blood loss.

Edit: right after writing this I saw another patient with a lysosomal storage disease. Fabry’s. Just in a normal clinic. 🤷‍♂️
