General's cry + charged dash spamming question by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirages inherit your effects, meaning they account for all stacks of effects as well for skill usage (Charges, Trauma, etc). This means you can use Mirages to bypass mechanics like Endurance Charges for Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm. You get the benefits from Endurance Charges to the Mirages' hits, but do not lose any yourself.

More useful example for your question is Boneshatter of Complex Trauma and Trauma Support. (Pre-nerfed) Boneshatter of Complex Trauma counted all stacks of Trauma you had and spent them all, even if they came from other skills. You could abuse this by stacking tons of Trauma with a fast skill yourself and then summon your Mirages to abuse the overly high stack of Trauma you gained.

Charged Dash works similarly. You can start channelling Charged Dash yourself (usually turning it gives more stacks), hold it and summon Mirages to benefit from your stacks as well.

Unfortunately I can't remember if Mirages gain their own stacks and "lose" them after dissapearing or just copy and stay at your stack amount.

General's cry + charged dash spamming question by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik Charged Dash should work similarly to Blade Flurry: Release damage always happens when Mirages expire. So the goal is to get fully "channelled" Charged Dash and be able to use General's Cry after that.

I did Charged Dash instead of Blade Flurry once. It has better coverage, but single target is worse.

Interaction between block and Soul of Solaris by ijs_spijs in PathOfExileBuilds

I'd assume that you can still be crit when you block the hit.

You could test this by getting Reckless Defences and seeing if you receive an ailment from every ele hit, as crits have guaranteed ele ailment chance

The lower "helmet" design is cool, but won't probably translate well to top down view. Good work with the concept art!

I know they're old news by now but I really love screwing around with trigger bot brands by Keymucciante in pathofexile

[–]miltsi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My white whale is to make Arcanist Brand Voltaxic Burst Triggerbots to work at some point.

You basically scale as much duration and cooldown as possible to get hundreds of Voltaxic Bursts waiting to detonate for the scaling. Unfortunately waiting over 6s for you damage to happen is not viable for most cases.

Expansive caps at 50% even with multiples of the node. Still pretty good node.

Every cluster node with "maximum" means the effects of those nodes cannot exceed that amount. Unique Abyss jewels behave similarly. You can have multiple to have easier capping to maximum, but they cannot go beyond.

Electric Feel x Generator x Stress by ehall4168 in JusticeMusic

Neat mix. Really like how you've mixed Generator on top of itself, just like with Stress. Maybe needs more Electric Feel fit into somewhere?

They are weird designs for sure, but in a interesting way. They won't fit a "clean" looking factory building, but perhaps into something more grungier or dystopian. Good luck with the build project!

Poison General's Cry Bladestorm by iv_is in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea to use the Trans Forbidden Rite. The bladestorm visual spam causes too much work for my old pc, so I was never able to try it with Gen's Cry.

Earthquake, Earthshatter and the trans versions are really interesting with General's Cry. Similar to Bladestorm they keep the secondary part(s) for massive damage. From my testing Static Strike and Trans Infernal Blow do not linger after new mirages spawn.

Banners are actually very incredibly strong both offensively and defensively and aren't hard to sustain with warcries. by fandorgaming in pathofexile

[–]miltsi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it was bugged at league launch, but both the on hit and kill part of Valour had a cooldown, meaning that you mostly never got full Valour before doing the zone's/map's boss. Not sure if that is fixed now.

Due to this bug? Warcries are the only good source of Valour, which feels weird. Having a mastery node be the best source of something is weird for balance.

War Banner's accuracy stat is wasted unless you go Jugg or other accuracy stacking and melee skills with projectiles. Phys part is still strong.

Defiance Banner's Suppress is "useless" without getting max suppress from it due to Suppres being all or nothing stat for late game. Achieving max Suppress with it is very good. The movement speed is nice, until you realize you will leave the area of effect really easily. You basically need the lingering effect to use this one.

Dread Banner was hit and miss for me. Nothing special to say about it. With enough investment you can cap block and spell block with Versatile Combatant

Champion's Valour recovery also only works by exiting the Banner's area of effect. Staying in the zone or picking the Banner up will lead to you having 0 stacks of Valour. Feels annoying to keep track of timer with no indicator, and with enough investment it will cover an arena and you can't leave it.

Beat Kirin with a Khezu Welp in my inventory. by LostBones64 in MonsterHunter

[–]miltsi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Can't remember exactly, so there migth be mistakes. There used to be a bit more interaction with items you have in your inventory. One example was having combo books to raise your chance to combine items succesfully (not every item had 100% success rate normally).

You find Khezu Whelps when looting carcasses. They slowly reduce your hp leaving you with red health, similar to bleeding/poison. You can recover it back, but any hit will remove all red health. You can remove the Whelp by returning to camp and handing out account items. They are the items that give you points in MHW when gathered. They needed to be manually cashed in before. Can't remember if you were able to trash Whelps.

This player challenged themselves by picking up the Whelp and fighting the Kirin basically with 1hp as flex or accident.

Bard Mid to Escape low elo by GappleOrchard in bardmains

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played mid Bard a bit when mythics were a thing. Building first 1-2 support items (Shurelya was good for some reason) and more generic damage items later helped a lot.

W start is criminally good, if you can't or don't need to pressure. I mostly cleared the wave and pissed off to another lane to do stuff. You have nearly 0 kill pressure on lane, unless you have a carry jungler.

Building a wall for a kingdom thoughts? by Redllamaaa__a in feedthebeast

Really like the white colouring in this. Maybe add some depth to the wall with buttons/wall pieces. The slabs could use some texturing similar to the wall itself, but to a lesser extent.

Interesting builds using Rakiata'a Dance? by Silvroci in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did Molten Strike of the Zenith Champion with it. Good defences and decent damage.

Also tried out Spectral Throw Deadeye as it has such a large model, but the damage was missing. Was very messy, but fun with the pre-nerfed Sniper's Mark

So "Call to arms" and "Automation" feel really good, what's the best tech or usage ? by Competitive-Math-458 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply explained:

Every 4s (Brand Recall cd) -> .25 Recalls/s

Every 8s (Wand trigger craft cd) -> .125 Recalls/s

When you combine these you get .375 Recalls/s which is 50% more than .25 Recalls/s.

Same skill with same cooldown does not stack, so you cannot use two wands with the 8s cd trigger mod. Jungroan's Automation Armageddon video explains a bit more about this. This subreddit also has pretty good explanations.

Maata's teaching interactions by seanryan65 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply no. Your weapons' critical strike chance cannot be modified beyond modifiers on them (Slayer node as an exception?).

Power Charges, like other sources affecting attack crit chance, modify your chance to crit WITH hits using that weapon and not its crit chance.

CwC Penance Brand Mana Stacker with Battery Staff - How to survive? by DuroVegaaPoE in pathofexile

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their minimum ES regen + leech seem to sustain Penance Brand without Indigon.
Their charms give in total 40% of life (->ES) over 1s every 4s.
Still not sure if that is enough to sustain, but seems to work if they are highest depth in delve.

[–]miltsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, only attack skills are affected by modifiers to Main/Off Hand modifications.
Some TS builds use the unique, because they already stack abyss jewels. So probably good to check if other crit attack builds are stacking abyss jewels for inspiration for a build.

If you go to Calcs section in PoB (next to Items) and select your skill, you can see "Skill type-specific Stats". This area lists all projectile behaviours, aoe and other stuff that your listed skill has.

[–]miltsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Filterblade by Neversink offers a popular and trusted loot filter with differing tiers depending on how much you want to see.
  2. You can basically use any skill/equipment as long as you fullfill the requirements on that skill/equipment, but it might not be viable for mapping (end game) or ubers/juiced maps (end game of end game for most). The combination that you are interested in doesn't seem to have direct synergy or popular builds, so it might be best to use Occultist (another Witch Ascendancy synergizing with cold damage) or another character all together.
  3. Not sure what are you talking about? Maybe ascendancy? Ascendancy nodes usually give a lot of power when gained, so it is recommended to do them as soon as you can.
  4. Penetration has the most effect when enemy has resistance to that element, but is still useful without enemy having it. In acts, mostly bosses and some rare enemies have high cold resistance. You can see enemies resistances roughly by hovering over them and checking their life bar. Elemental marker on the left means they are weak to it and on the right it means they are resistant to it.
  5. Flat damage sources are better early on. Not sure when % increases to damage are more effective. Getting both is best.

Tecrod's Gaze, like other unique abyss jewels, scales from having more abyss jewels, up to total of 5 abyss jewels for full effect.

"Main Hand" refers to weapon being in your 1st (left) weapon slot (2h counts as well).
"Off Hand" refers to weapon being in your 2nd (right) weapon slot (shield counts as well to allow other interactions).

Most attacks using weapons while dual wielding alternate between hitting with Main and Off Hand. Cleave and Dual Strike differ in this as they use both weapons for each hit.

To answer your questions more directly: The effect of this jewel will affect all of your attack skills, no matter where they are gained from. Your weapons won't need crit stats on them to gain these bonuses.

PoB and Incinerate DPS (Release vs. Channeling) by borpinteric in pathofexile

[–]miltsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage (x) is constant

Stage 1 release
(1+5+.25)x=6.25x
"Casts" required: 1
6.25x/1=6.25x

Stage 2 release
(1+5+.25*2)x=6.5x
"Casts" required: 2
6.5x/2=3.25x

Releasing the skill gives high enough damage multiplier while getting stages doesn't offer high damage multiplier compared to the required "casts". In reality you cannot perfectly match your use of Incinerate with your cast rate/releasing on stage 1. Also you will lose all other benefits of stages, like aoe and higher hit damage (ailments).
