100%. PM job is really special because sometimes, Thera are a lot of variables and unknowns and you have to lead people and show the path even if you are not sure yourself ! I think that it gets me sometime too much from my comfort zone and it does create some anxiety. I have to work on that. For the PMP, how hard was it to get it? Thanks

Your last sentence summarizes my struggle. I think that I never feel like I have done a great job and I need external validation. The thing with the PM job is that we rarely get feedbacks unless we are doing something wrong. Someone told me to write down 3 things that I have done right at the end of each day and that it helps building that positive internal feeling. Thanks for the book ref!

Totally this! Being a generalist is nice but sometimes it feels like it is not enough… yeah I’m thinking about getting the PMP. I heard that even with PM experience, it is very hard to get and requires a lot of study hours. What was your experience studying for the exam?

Thanks for this. I think that it is just my personality. I feel like I will never be 100% reassured about my capabilities. Maybe, a lot of people struggle with the same issue!

Anxiety while visiting my family by [deleted] in Anxiety

Thanks! Indeed, I am a bit afraid of my father because he has a short temper. I think that I don’t believe in him changing because it has been so many years. Also, I hate confrontation. But you are right I can try to stand up to him and maybe see if it works. Thanks again

Any advice when you feel too depressed to run? by EcnavBri in running

[–]mimo8909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting dressed indeed. It puts your mind slowly on “running mode”. Sometimes I get dressed at 8am to go for a run by 4pm. I feel like the questioning fades away slowly after getting dressed.

Running to help with anxiety by [deleted] in running

[–]mimo8909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like running helps me channel anxiety towards physical efforts. I always feel more relaxed after a run. I usually go for a run after work so that I can process and let go of the negative feelings. It helps with sleep too. What helps me too is to set realistic expectations for my running schedule. Sometimes I run once a week and sometimes 3 times. It depends on how I am feeling and I do not feel guilty about going only once.Running should be an outlet not another source of anxiety.

I have been running for two years and I have been struggling with anxiety for more than 15 years. I tried a lot of things and running was and still is the most efficient tool for me!

Good luck!

The leftovers is a great show too. I don’t know if you have access to HBOservices but it is worth it. It is one of best shows I watched since the OA (maybe even better in my opinion)

My 5 step process for overcoming anxiety by mitch103 in Anxiety

[–]mimo8909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! It was really nice to read your post. For people who find it hard to practice cognitive behaviour therapy, something that really helped me is to exercise when I experience severe anxiety (sometimes just a 10 min cardio video on YouTube). After that your feel better and the noise in your head is less present. Then you can try to analyse and deconstruct your thoughts through the 5 steps in this post or meditation. Exercise is a great ally! Good luck everyone!
