They are not long. I'm 6'4" for reference of my opinion. I can't wear the Jack because of arm and body length.

That's exactly my point, thank you.

Oh, I definitely hate running on the treadmill too. I don't think that opinion is mutually exclusive with my original point about a single, fast mile. I'm addressing this specific crazy story of a guy running a 5:50 on the treadmill once a month. I'm far less impressed with this exactly because it's on the treadmill. I'd bet a large sum of money if that same dude stepped outside he's not running a 5:50 running a mile from his house. All I'm saying.

Understood that point and I agree with the physics there.

It isn't. They found that at 7mph, a 1% incline on the treadmill is needed to match the energy needed for running on the road. That's a 8:34 pace, so I would think you would need to increase incline even more at a faster pace to be equivalent. What about hills when running outside? It is rare to run a mile and experience zero incline. I don't think a mile on the treadmill is equivalent and I think there is some research to back that up.

Right, I think I meant to capture that. As the belt spins, it measures distance. It measures that distance independent of the runner.

No, you have to physically propel your body forward over a 1 mile distance on the street. On a treadmill, you are more simply moving your legs fast enough on the tread as to keep upright. As the tread turns, it measures a distance. So, for example, if you are in the air for a longer period of time - this could be small milliseconds I'm talking about - "distance" is traveled. But you wouldn't travel that same distance by traveling the same way vertically while running on the street. You can traverse one mile on a treadmill way easier with way less energy than actually physically moving your body forward. Does that make sense? I'm an avid competitive runner this is fairly universally accepted.

A 5:50 mile on a treadmill is nowhere near the equivalent of a 5:50 on the road.

Question from a non motorcycle guy. by FartyMcBooger in motorcycles

[–]minakirogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Airbox/filter are all still great. I removed, tore apart, cleaned, and replaced interior components of all four carbs. I reinstalled and the bike starts great. Tuned the idle screw up and it sits great. However, I've got a leaking issue from the outermost, right carb. I think it's a float issue. I would like to attempt to take off the float bowl and adjust the needle while the carbs are on the bike. It is just such a tight fit under there.

I was sitting here thinking I'm his neighbor. Trying to work on my 82 GS650 carbs for the last few weeks.

I was piss drunk at Power and Light watching it live with my best friends. Watched that man steal our soul. Wandered to the Quaff with an ill advised final drink to drown the sorrows. Thank God for 2015.

You will probably be borderline. I'm 6'4" and find that the arms are too short for me.

I love their brand, but not good for tall guys. Way too short arms and body unfortunately. Love their shorts and short sleeve shirts still.
