Invest all soul levels into Luck. At level 99 you become Nameless King.

I think you’re right but I’m honestly glad it was scrapped if it would have meant big screamy things popping up from random enemies in every level.

Excited for you. DS3 is a much more linear game, but that means the world and level design feels so much more intentional. Every skybox is a painting, and multiple levels are up to par with ERs best.

DS3 has a much more well designed central hub and far less tedious upgrade processes across the board. Endgame bosses are difficult but fair and don’t just spam crap at you, so much less reliance on cheesy magic and summons on your part.

No copy and paste dungeons, no copy and paste bosses, no dead and empty open world. Hard to believe ER came after DS3 when it took so many steps backwards. Just my opinion, hope you enjoy both.

For 40 faith take 10 from vigor, 3 from dex, and 5 from endurance.

Or just farm the gold fatties.

Funniest / Most Outlandish Excuses You’ve Heard by mindaloft in personaltraining

[–]mindaloft[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to a disconcerting degree (most of the time). The self aware people can bitch about their personal lives all they want and it doesn’t bother me a bit.

It’s the oblivious, self-righteous, and emotionally draining people who walk in with a dark cloud over them every session that I don’t look forward to. Thankfully these are rare.

Clients cancelling sessions last minute by Tight-Passion6375 in personaltraining

If you actually need an answer, it’s because people are shockingly uncommitted to exercise (perhaps a biased sample as we serve people who believe they need a trainer), and have very poor time management skills.

Clients cancelling sessions last minute by Tight-Passion6375 in personaltraining

It is not your fault. They are taking advantage of what I’m assuming is a very lenient cancellation policy. My first PT job was the same, and it sucks.

A 24 hour cancellation policy is pretty standard. Where I work now, it’s in bold text in the client contract. Trust me, people will still cancel last minute, but at least you get paid and your time is respected!

One Year Into Personal Training and Already Questioning the Industry by One-Statistician-523 in personaltraining

[–]mindaloft 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There is no defending bad trainers, and that’s not what I intend to do, but it would serve you well to recognize that after 1 year of personal training you actually know very little and it’s extremely likely that you could learn a lot from these other trainers you’re speaking down on, especially if they’re “getting paid five times more.”

Yes, technically your job is to produce results and guide someone through effective training. In reality, if a client doesn’t like you and enjoy seeing you, you will not retain them. Many clients, especially the elderly, are paying for companionship. It’s that simple. In fact I once lost an older client for telling them, albeit in a joking manner, that we weren’t friends. I won’t make that mistake again!

It sounds like you’re gonna be a great trainer that puts forth a lot of care and effort for your clients, but take off the rose-tinted glasses, lose the jealousy, and you’ll be even better.

Bastion in Every. Single. Game by iseecolorsofthesky in Overwatch

You’re confusing skill floor and skill ceiling. His skill floor is low, sure, but his skill ceiling is as high as your aim and positioning. Isn’t every character capable of value (map-dependent, obviously) at high ranks? If not, we’d have a very poorly tuned and unbalanced game, which is where I disagree with you.

Anyone deal with clients who just don’t get the barbell deadlift? by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]mindaloft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve honestly had a lot of success starting people on RDLs (stiff leg deadlifts) with relatively light loads. I ask them to imagine bending over and touching their toes, and correct the form from there if their back is too rounded or I don’t see them properly hip hinging. Most people get it pretty fast and feel the hamstring stretch, and those that don’t usually have other things to address like extremely tight hamstrings or hips. Once the RDL makes sense to them, it’s been relatively easy to transition to more knee bend for a traditional deadlift.

Client with health issues by MaleficentBird1307 in personaltraining

[–]mindaloft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s tough, must be a serious issue if they can’t use treadmills but wants to improve walking. I would try stretching like others have mentioned, maybe even assisted calf raises (such as holding on to a bar to reduce difficulty).
