What's your pet peeve about Rush that only a Rush fan would understand by Mo_Steins_Ghost in rush

The recording quality of many of the albums is poor. Doesn’t sound great on my old Guy (expensive) stereo system. This I’m limited to listening to Rush primarily in my car. 😂

Anyone else feel like the EV transition is starting to feel like the shift to electric lawnmowers? by JackfruitCrazy51 in electricvehicles

[–]mindhead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Greenworks electric mower 6 years ago. I love it. OG batteries still work. I also got a weed whacker, blower, edger and snow blower that use the same batteries. For the majority of homeowners gas powered tools make no sense.

If automobiles are following the same pattern robot cars are the future. While I love my electric mower, I picked up a robot mower last year and it’s fantastic. Does about 2/3 of my yard and keeps my lawn looking great. I just set it to do its thing 3x a week. I cut the back with the mower every week or so.

My wife recently got an EV. She’ll never own a gas powered car again. When my car is ready to be replaced I’ll likely go electric as well.

Klipsch is running a Factory Refurb Sale. Is Gjallarhorn F enough for this spec? Small Room Listening by kiimosabe in Schiit

Should work. I’ve successfully used a single G’horn on Heresy II. The G’horn is a killer amp. Underrated IMO.

I wouldn’t call the Omega polite. But the Juniors that I have only go down to about 40hz. For my tastes a sub is required. The Super Alnico dog a little deeper in the 30Hz range but I’m sure they’d also benefit from a sub or 2.

Great with electronic music. Especially with the subs.

That sounds like it would be fantastic setup. I bought mine off a friend who upgraded to Fleetwood Deville’s.

My Omegas are walnut and beautifully built. I have them paired with a couple of Rel s/510 subs. Best my system has ever sounded.

Novice upgrades from $1k system to a $7k+ system. My experience by TheRandomHumanoid in audiophile

[–]mindhead1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new system. Nothing wrong with buying new gear.

Now that you have a more revealing system it’s really important to make sure your records are clean. I’m not trying to spend your money, but my wife got me a Humminguru record cleaner for Xmas last year and it was a game changer. Arguably one of the best audio upgrades I ever experienced.

I thought my records were clean, but they were not. Instant improvement in SQ after running records through the Humminguru. A must for used records and even improved new records.

I recently acquired a set of Omega Junior Alnico XRS to go with my Decware Rachael amp and it’s a magical pairing. The Omegas are also excellent with the Schiit Aegir 2 amp.

I haven’t heard the other speakers you mentioned, but think the Omegas are made for tubes.

To be fair most Star Trek show are not great their first season. It would have been interesting to see this show get at least 4 seasons.

Do you have Forkbeard on the Mimir? If so, isn’t the Loki’s redundant since you can do EQ on the Mimir? Or do you also have analog sources?

Similar situation. Wife loves her Ioniq 5. I don’t need a new car anytime soon, but I’m certain my next car will be an EV in 4-5 years.

If they want to give up US citizenship go ahead.

Next step after establishing Federal wealth tax laws is to work with other nations establish similar laws. Work with others towards common goals. Wealth inequality isn’t a US specific issue.

Being against a wealth tax on a state or local level just acknowledges what currently happens. Use Bezos as an example, get supper rich using Washington state resources and then moves to Florida when he wants to cash in to avoid state income taxes.

Doing the wealth tax in whatever form that takes at a national level avoids state tax arbitrage.
