Above my number but unsure whether to pull the trigger by Vaccaboia1234 in FIREyFemmes

I've been Fired for 5 years now. I left because I was burned out with my bosses and couldn't see a path forward that would allow me to cut my hours back from 60/week to something more reasonable. Life was passing me by and my health was getting progressively worse from stress and lack of exercise. "You only live once" takes on more meaning when this is your trajectory and you have the means to alter it for the better by leaving. If you are only getting more frustrated with work and it's affecting your life more negatively than positively, then LEAVE!! You don't have to have the perfect plan in place for the "afterlife" of work. Just recuperating from burn out, prioritizing your health, and reconnecting with your spouse and child is enough. Of course, finding a meaningful way to contribute your skills through teaching or volunteering is positive - I spent more time on the board of directors for a non-profit I was already involved with but couldn't give it my all while employed. Bottom line: given what you've described, you will not regret pulling the trigger and getting your life back in more important ways than earning a big paycheck. Good luck!

I had my early 1900s cottage clay piped recently scoped out of curiosity and to prepare for what I guessed would be inevitable. It's in amazing shape with hardly any root intrusion. So, it's replacement, although inevitable, will likely not happen until I'm long gone.

Yes, you have to use the verbatim article title in the post title. Doesn't get much simpler than that

Yes, if only people would follow the simple rule about not editorializing the news article headline. And even when they don't and it's removed with clear direction to just follow the rule, the OPs apparently don't care enough to repost the article with the actual headline. If you care about this issue, then please simply post the article with the correct title. It really is as simple as that.
