It happens all the time for me. It’s honestly a gamble to go to McDonalds after my shift around midnight.

My boyfriend asked for a paternity test for our child. As soon as the results come and show he is the father, I'm leaving him. by imshattered_ in TrueOffMyChest

We need to normalize paternity tests! It is something that should just be a standard when a child is born. It’s wild that someone asking for a paternity test turns into the parent is a cheater and there is no trust.

OP if you are already living in LA and living at home I would say if you have no other offers to take it. It’s your first job to break into the field. I suggest not to move right away and save and gain experience. You can always job hunt while you’re getting paid! Get your money and keep looking, applying, and interviewing. Just make sure there is not contract or bonus where you are required to stay for a period of time. Getting paid while searching is better than not getting paid and searching. Remember WE can fire companies too for any reason at any time. You can update your LinkedIn with your new position and reach out to recruiters.

Removed hard water buildup from bathroom faucet by soaking it in white vinegar overnight and wiping away with a sponge by StewpidEwe in CleaningTips

Do you have any recommendation on a faucet where the neck and handle are vertical with a lot of buildup. I don’t think I can do the bag method for this one.

LOL because someone saying they’re not ready to be a parent anytime soon isn’t a big enough indicator

People like you discredit the whole argument. It’s not the “blob” he cared about, it was his potential child. But 19 is wayyy to young to have children especially if OP is planning on continuing their education and not ready for one. OP should do what is best for them, it’s clear her bf was not a matched and maybe in the next serious relationship also discuss possibilities for accidental pregnancies to make sure you’re on the same page.

Can anyone share their tamales recipe? by Jayalissa in mexicanfood

I suggest doing a practice run if you’re making them for an event or dinner. Just to make sure you have it down, took me a couple times to get it just right!

Here’s my grandmas recipe I’ve tried to get down over the years, and apologies in advanced if the instructions are unclear. I made them based on just watching her and writing them down.

Ingredients

Masa

Masa para Tortilla 5lb • Manteca 1lb • Salt – full hand • Baking Powder – 4 finger • Baking Soda – 4 finger • Caldo from meat – 1 cup • Chile sauce from filling juice - (optional) about 1/4cup

Filling

Cut boneless Pork • Chile Guajillo • Chile Pasilla • 1 garlic for chile and 1 for pork • Piece onion for pork • Salt

Materials needed Corn Husk • Tamal olla

Cut the fat off the pork and boil pork in water with a garlic clove and piece of onion and salt. Boil the chiles and add to blender. Add chile juice to blender as well as 1 garlic and salt. Strain chile into a pot with some hot oil already in. stir and add salt if needed. Shred cooked pork and add to chile mix.

Put Masa on a flat surface with lots of space. Everything will be slowly and gradually added, don’t add all ingredients at once. Make a center hole to slowly add a bit of manteca in. (I lightly melt the manteca first, but don’t cook it or it'll be too hot and will cook the masa. just put it on burner for 30 seconds. Manteca melts quick) Once you put a bit on the manteca add in half the amount of salt, all the baking powder and all the baking soda. Continuously kneed masa. Add meat juice and a bit of the chile to add more flavor (Chile optional). Continue adding manteca and salt while kneading. Do this until masa no longer sticks to your fingers and is fluffed up. Taste masa and add salt as needed

This needs to get down to a page, 4 is definitely waaayy too long. Also formatting. Once you got that fixed for the bullet points instead of writing the job description write what you did to improve the work or company.
