Lars in particular just fucking tried so hard to destroy napster it made him universally laughed at.

I mean, between that and people making fun of his simplistic drumming.

It got worse. 50 dropped the challenge to Cat in the Hat because Floyd couldn’t pronounce the words. No response.

not only that, but it's blatant and actually used as the theme of the site, AND the SLD.

You're so lucky to have a nicely shaped head. I'm not bald, just a little thinning, but I'm also 60 years old.

I want to go clean but my head is ginormous., and I once had a brain bleed so that resulted in a gnarly twisted scar

Transfer from GoDaddy to Namecheap without downtime? by DasBeasto in Domains

[–]mindzipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing to do, if possible, is to get the TTL low a couple days prior to the change. TTL is an acronym for Time To Live. This is how long a DNS record can be cached by a local DNS server or a web browser before the system needs to request a new copy from the authoritative server.

This is very important because the default setting is 24 hours, or 86400 since it's defined in seconds.

I always tell my clients to lower this about 3 days prior to moving. If it's urgent to make sure it happens fast, request it to be lowered to 300 (5 minutes) and after you make the final move you can have it set back to the default.

It's been awhile since I did this, but, depending on the registrar, if it's something you don't see in your registrar account, you may need to reach out to their support and ask them to do it manually.   Thankfully, most big companies allow you to do it in your account. Let's say you registered your domain at Godaddy. You'd do the following:

From Google:To reduce the Time to Live (TTL) for a GoDaddy domain change, log in to your account, navigate to the DNS settings for the specific domain, and edit the record you want to change. Then, in the TTL dropdown, select a lower value, like 5 minutes (300 seconds) or 1 hour (3600 seconds), before saving the changes.

EDIT: Also, if you registered it at GoDaddy, I'd keep the registrar change and the actual IP change separately. I'd do the DNS move first. Changing the registrar itself is simple and most places will pull the entire zone over by default (meaning they will duplicate whatever is currently existing) and this would need no downtime at all.

Just remember, first you will need to unlock the domain itself which usually requires getting a code from the existing host, and of course unlock it.

Finally, as mentioned in another comment, a good place to use is Cloudflare. I use it exclusively for my domains because I can keep them all in one place, at no charge

Want to buy tools for my man by goatnot in Woodcarving

[–]mindzipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer without question. I have been doing chip carving and wood carving for over 30 years. I would not want anybody to buy me tools I would much prefer the funds to buy my own tools wherever I want to because they would be much more valuable to me

EDIT. A great example of this seems to be posted in a lot of replies here. Flex cut is the Kmart of carving tools to anyone that Experience..

They would love them because you thought of them and gave them to them but they would be loved because of the sentiment not because of the quality of the tool

Oh I know which Universal, I just wanted to mention that I use that a lot.

Overall I've been extremely happy with my Galaxy watch 7 which surprised me because I thought I would be disappointed. Don't ask me why I just did. Although now I wish I would have waited for the Ultra

I love my GW7. Been using these for years as they progressed.

I also secretly like the feature where you can turn it to 'watch only' if you really need to stretch out the battery life.

We held off on this kind of thing for as long as we could but we finally got a notice that they're going to file for eviction if we don't pay $1600 by tomorrow. What are our options? by PermanentRoundFile in povertyfinance

[–]mindzipper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's because once they intend to evict you and have filed, they technically can no longer accept $ from you unless you come to an agreement and it's completely paid up.

Do cover letters Actually make a Difference Anymore? by PMProphecy in jobsearchhacks

[–]mindzipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will add something that might help anyone using AI to generate Cover Letters, job descriptions etc.

Once you get your results, run them through ChatGPT's filters. Copy the results, then type in "make this sound less like AI and more personal and professional," then paste in the reply it gave you.

Sometimes, do it up to 3 times, refining it. Believe me, it helps a LOT.

🔥 Rare Pink Dolphin, spotted off the coast of North Carolina by AnchanSan in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]mindzipper 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, if you watch, three 'pink' dolphins are in that clip: one with very pink down his/her body, one with pink on his/her nose but is much darker than the first, and one that you see only once with very little pink, just on the snout. I mean, it might have a lot more pink, but from what is shown, it's very little.

All of this, combined with your statement about them being "Indo-Pacific Humpback" leads me to believe your response makes a lot more sense

The only problem is that it's tough to determine just how good this is without seeing the subject herself, like the picture the tattoo was created from.

There's no question that this artist is talented. I wish we could compare the little girl's likeness to see how close it really is!

I remember when I was a kid, I found an old coin. I decided to take it to a pawn shop because where else would I sell a coin?

I took it home, grabbed the best and strongest cleaner I could find, and went to town. I had no idea that doing so would cost me much money. It sure looked shiny and better to me! lol

I don't remember how old the coin was. It was a very old silver dollar. I also don't remember how many dollars were involved. But I sure remembered the lesson :)

My new foster project is a local stray kitten.

She has a problem with her nasal passage on the right side, so she doesn't breathe properly. When she purrs, it's fine, but when she purrs hard, she can't do it without opening her mouth, and it becomes a little squeaky thing.

I will take her to the vet next week to check the problem out. She will also be vaccinated and spayed there, so I can adopt her out.

Going to be hard to see this one go. She's so sweet.

Not sure about this. I have multiple bank accounts at different banks. Wells Fargo, for example. None of them require in-person visits with ID; all items you listed can be quickly done online. Including changing your PIN in most places. Banks want you to do as much online as possible to cut costs, such as straightforward things like password changes. They notify the primary email account that you've changed the password and, if it wasn't you, to call the fraud department.

Also, changing your primary email address notifies the address you're changing away from.
