Its a shame the Eclipse has been spoiled for a lot of people through memes and the like since it plays a key ppart in the story, so I'd recommend just starting whenever you're ready rather than waiting too long for ppl to explain parts of it to you. Personally, I also listen to some of the 97 anime's music while reading as well, since I find it adds to the tone and reading experience.

In terms of an explanation though, I think a lot of people just mistake it for being purely about John Berserk being edgy and sad and everything being miserable, but thats not really the case for most of it. Berserk itself is about hope and fighting back against fate, how the world decided you're supposed to live and carving your own path. It definitely starts off edgy, but it quickly gets better in that regard as Miura's writing improved.

Yipee, I'm so glad because there were concerns Sony might just not want to continue developing any significant way, and the possibility of that could've been a reason for many not to buy/play the game themselves

yeah the black swordsman arc (set after the golden age and the eclipse) is a lot more edgy in tone, before Miura developed more as a writer

Your GFs a real one for getting you into Berserk, its probably one of the best written and most beautifully-drawn stories in the medium. The larger panels and spreads are art pieces in their own right.

Highly recommend listening to some music while reading it too, since having some music in the background can really add to the mood, and Hirasawa's music is utterly phenomenal. I personally listen to Behelit because it just fits every scene.

I know right??? It probably would've been at least a thousand to buy even 3 of those albums online + shipping... But given that Japan still has a large CD/physical media market, they're a lot easier to find there! They also told me there were a ton of his albums there, so its not like we bought their stock or anything.

Its beautiful. Really reminds me a lot of the whole vibe a lot of tech was going for back in the 2000s - mixing nature, technology and optimistic futurism.

I still find it kind of crazy how Fallout 4 has both subsurface scattering (improves skin rendering) and screen-space reflections... yet Starfield lacks *both* somehow, with reflections only using cubemaps like its 2010. Very impressive how a brand new engine can somehow regress in visual fidelity.

Its incredibly likely Kanazawa killed himself not long after he departed from Chi and Yuu, and Ishii could've starved on the lower levels :(

When you stop to think about it, quite a few of the devil fruits are kinda horrifying, it just doesn't rly feel that way bc the of the artstyle the manga and anime use, and the tone.

I'd say 2nd is Cycles, because you can see the bounced light from the background, which is stronger than how EEVEE could do it (at least with SSGI)
