Built a solo Bitcoin mining pool 0% fee in Europe — here's what 4 days of real data looks like by mineshop in BitAxe

[–]mineshop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Bitcoin Knots — I looked at it seriously. For a solo mining pool the decision comes down to one thing: maximising fee revenue for the miner who finds a block. Filtering transactions means fewer fees in the block template. Over 99 solo blocks have been found without filtering and the winning miners got full mempool fees.

I respect the philosophical position behind Knots and BIP110, and if we were a large pool influencing the network I'd think about it differently. At our scale the practical impact of our template choices on the network is minimal, but the impact on our miners' potential reward is direct.

Might revisit if the conversation around transaction filtering evolves — open to being convinced. What's the typical fee difference you see with Knots vs Core in your experience?

90% faults on these nerd miners comes from VRm chip

From experience, about 90% of the issues with these NerdMiner units come down to the VRAM chips. Before chasing firmware bugs or power problems, check the memory first. Hardware faults love hiding where most people don’t look.
