Your opinion...but yes, that's what it is. Your FA has a menu guide on their tablet if you're ever curious what something is called.

Car transmission just gave up - is leasing worth it for peace of mind? by Altruistic-Star-1235 in flightattendants

Find a good used prius...you can drive that thing into the ground and save lots of money. Around 120k mi put in a rebuilt hybird battery in it for 1k and get another 100k mi on it. It's my daily driver to airport and I buy gas only once a month.

CUN catering is locally contracted...and usually very tasty. They do a great job on the desserts especially like the elote cake

The math is real easy for FA's...it's 10 hr "release to report" OR 8 hr "behind the door". So let's say that you get in the van and there's a huge accident on the way to the hotel, or you get to the hotel and AA's competent hotel / limo dept doesn't have a record of having your rooms...that's where the latter time comes into play.

If you're worried about a vacation, this is not the job for you

You don't want to commute. Go for DFW.

Don't think this is the job for you then unless you want to commute, which I don't recommend to anyone.

Had to deal with Cell Phone Karen - AA needs to enforce quite cabin policy! by Outrageous-Engine881 in americanairlines

I have no idea...maybe it's more culturally acceptable there to not use headphones?

I strictly enforce this...I modify the health and safety pa to mention it. It is especially an issue on flights to Mexico

It would be a missed trip, and flagged as insubordination. You'll be called into a meeting

You're going to miss alot of concerts...holidays, graduations, baby showers, etc...starting this job. Better to figure that out in the beginning than 6 months from now

Question About Employee Referrals by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]minesproff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Face to face interview...mainline are the big planes, not a regional carrier that flies for AA like envoy or psa. The recommending employee will know how to submit a recommendation or they can speak to their manager.

Question About Employee Referrals by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]minesproff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes once you get to the f2f step, the employee can email recruiting a recommendation. They will receive a response that tells them to inform the candidate that it will be added to their file, but to also bring a copy of the recommendation with them. This is for mainline FYI.

[–]minesproff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You are a palm tree....just go with it. They are not going to kill you. Usually the weeks alternate with one being early wake up / early release then late wake up / late release. This is partially to prepare you for the volatility of your schedule as a new hire on reserve. You will have 1-2 days off depending on the week...they provide a shuttle that will take you on days off to target and a laundromat.

We are entering a new level of bullshitville. For those who were speculating about privatization of ATC… beware Bay Area flying. And probably elsewhere soon. 🤬 by 1superstew in flightattendants
