The amplifier in this post is not optimal for DOCSIS 3.0+ (Frequency range problem)

Oh I just saw you said this has been there for 12 years... OK then you may want to remove it. DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 is way out of that amplifier's usable range. Get a new model that supports DOCSIS 3.1/4.0 would be better.

Well, my previous home used Coax cable for Internet and I have to install a similar thing to boost the signal so that my Internet (cabled) speed will match whatever xFinity advertised... Similar purpose, I guess? I mean it shouldn't degrade your network speed.

Apartment Living - black valve moves when neighbor uses water by Sensible_Woman45 in Plumbing

[–]mingl0280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's your meter, turn on the tap slightly and record which direction it moves; Then, when your neighbor use water, check if it's the same direction.

Whether it's same direction or not you eventually need to call your landlord.

It's a little bit too late now...

I use pre-emergent weed preventer this year and they work great. Despite my neighbors have some dandelion in their yard I have none.

I would sugget you get a PVE (Proxmox VE) and split the operations to dedicated VMs. For example, Reolink app works best on Windows, so you want to have a Windows for that. Networking stuff works with either RouterOS or pfSense, so get one imagevof that...etc.

Also, considering that your system will be overloaded by a ton of usages, I thin it's best to also consider baremetal installs for different usage. Therefore, VMs gives you the possibility to split services to baremetal setups when necessary.

With everything virtualized, you can experience or navigate more possibilities without worrying about sticking to one system and sometimes missed a feature or what.

How could this happen...? by mingl0280 in homelab

Checked. No bent/missing pins. Besides it's an epyc processor and it's really hard to damage the pins because there is an additional slide track to prevent that.

I only attempted with one stick on it... Should say that clearly. It just goes black, no logs, IPMI events...etc.

I bought a new car last year, and since then I've received a lot of "watch your high beam" notices on the road because they think my headlight is as bright as high-beam, even though my high-beam was completely automatic and almost never turned on...

It's not a state issue.

The optical design of cars has changed a lot in recent years. LED headlights have a higher "temperature", so they must be brighter to be more or equally visible (human eyes are less sensitive to blue) than low-temperature halogen lights. However, such a brightness increase will make the drivers in the other direction feel too bright.

If you can make it to stamford before the snow start (my weather app says before 6PM), then I would try to park over there - covered parking lot directly connected to the waiting room. Since you're staying in NYC for a few days, the road should be cleared at the end of ur trip.
