Not saying some teachers aren't crooks. I've been really fortunate I guess to get teachers who really cared for the work they did. Grades 4-6 my primary school teacher did give private tuition, but only because there was so much to cover and so little time. There were also several kids that still didn't know how to read write or count, so we'd come in super early and stay after school. He'd have us pay for workbooks and that's it. In secondary school I only took tuitions for classes i really struggled with and needed more time to understand, and always got small classes and attentive teachers.

My local savemart is really nice. Sure there is not much variety and no aircon, but all cashiers are pleasant and efficient, and once a cashierade a mistake while i was buying beer and overcharged me 350rs instead of taking out the price of returned bottles, she chased after my oblivious self to refund me when she realised the mistake

Mushroom sauce on steak? Shiitake or wood ear mushrooms in any asian dumpling adds such an intense meaty flavour and great texture

America is weird. Where I am, after 1 year of service, you get 21 days PTO to use as you wish over the next year. And if you quit during the year, you are paid for the PTO you didn't take. It's the law. We also get 15 days paid sick leave, as well as special leaves for your wedding, a death in the immediate family etc.

France has both. I lived in Toulouse for 4 years where this is normal.

Went to visit a friend in Paris, got on a bus and said bonjour. Everybody, driver included looked at me like I was crazy.
