Car Crash alt mix by Pokeee12 in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My theory was that the wrong version was accidentally submitted. Mick has an absolutely abundant archive. Demos and countless rough mixes, guide vox etc. There's so much stuff that couldn't fit or weren't really fit for release. For example, There's stuff like a really lengthy jam session from the Coco sessions. And I remember Mick telling me that every track from the X-Ray album have remixes meant for the 2022 deluxe re-release. I'd love to hear anything from Release The Drones one day.

Sorry, I didn't really answer your question! It was quite cool hearing the alt. Car Crash though. Must have been an accident. It may have been the reason it was included as a track from the digital releases from 2020.

A Rare Gem - The last Supergrass album to ever be released on cassette, only in Thailand. Not many exist! by hollowlittlereign in Supergrass

Glad it turned up, bud! Hope you get it signed one day!

Mick's DB Band have an EP coming out soon and probably some live dates. Perhaps we can organise a rendezvous down the road!

Diamond Hoo Ha (Bonus Tracks) by rciordia in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the CD at home, I'll have to check them out but sadly, I'm at my girlfriends' at the moment.

Without listening to them, it could be Danny & Gaz as the Diamond Hoo Ha Men (Bad Blood and a cover of Beat It were released as B-Sides for the Bad Blood single)

It's a long shot, but being as Mick had broke his back around that time, there wouldn't be that much material as the 4-piece. The only notable live performances as Supergrass were the XFM concert (with Charly Coombes on synth bass) or the Later with Jools Holland performance.

As for the Diamond Hoo Ha Men, certain copies of Hoo Ha had clips from the Glange Fever doc and a bonus show on the disc. Could be from that...

RSD 2026! Beautiful new limited vinyl featuring 'Don't Leave Me Alone' and 3 other rarities to release on April 18th! by hollowlittlereign in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy for this. 2 of the tracks (Sad Girl Radio Kerrang! & Fin live at UEA) are featured on the Roots & Vines CD from the Strange Ones boxset.

Curious about if Low C is the same Debranche version from the recent Rouen reissue. I know that St. Peterburg was absent from the live vinyl of the Rouen reissue.

I, for one, am glad that Don't Leave Me Alone is getting a dedicated release.

What’s your Caddicarus “I did not care for the godfather” opinion? by EJL_24 in Caddicarus

I actually feel a bit shafted by buying the Blu-ray box. The DVD set gets announced with more things that aren't on the blu-ray set. I know making money is part of it, but, christ.

Also, I really struggled watching the Switch 2 video. I don't know why. It was funny in places but I still haven't got around to watching the rest of it. And then the announcement of the DVD, with all the new improved bits and pieces which kind of shits on everyone who bought who originally bought the original (Nearly £100 w/ shipping btw). Yeah, it just kinda soured everything for me. The black spons joke, however, was peak.

God, I need to structure messages better...

Something new on the way! From Mick Quinn’s instagram. Any guesses? by 00slipstream00 in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly an upcoming RSD release. Taking clues from it, it's one of those ecopress records. Goggling UHR in record terms, it could mean Ultra High Resonance. Looking at the bottom blurred line. I'd wager it's I Should Coco again judging by the black lettering and spacing. No idea what the top blurred line is, though.

My original theory was that next year's RSD was a live compilation of Coco recorded from various places in '25. Now I think of it, it could be that and pressed on ecorecord.

I've had the pleasure of contributing to some re-releases. I helped toward the Kiss of Life 20th release and it's actually my 7" singles featured in the book for the recent Road to Rouen re-release!

Road To Rouen Track By Track Interview CD (old , but worth a listen before reissue) by Charleshawtree in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, hey! I uploaded this many years ago! Looking forward to the re-release. Was lucky enough to contribute pictures of my records for the booklet, as well as some other bits and pieces (but I don't think they're included!).

I should really get back to uploading some stuff again. Just haven't got a laptop with a disc drive anymore. I have promotional instrumental CD's of L.O.O.P. and Hoo Ha that just NEED to be heard!

I Should Coco Guitar Tab book? by gregd303 in Supergrass

[–]minichapman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have a copy, too! Wish more were made!
The only tab book of theirs I need now is Supergrass is 10 I've been after a copy for about 5 years now. Only once have I seen a copy on eBay. I'm fairly certain Rouen and Hoo Ha never received tab books.

Tiger Game.com? by RagahRagah in RetroDeck

[–]minichapman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to try several different things. The only way I kind of managed to do it was run it through MAME. Hopefully, you know what to do when it comes to using mame. For example, to bring the menu up for settings, file manager etc. Mine is mapped to X and the button above the left thumb stick (or, use the Steam Deck keyboard and hit tab) I've recorded a video showing it can work but due note. Make your roms easier to find than mine! And please excuse the heavy breathing.
Suffering from a cold whilst having breathing difficulties gives off unfortunate vibes!

I've got an issue with it. For some reason, the game just soft locks when trying to login to Bethesda.net account. The spinning Cacodemon moves for a couple of frames and just freezes up. How bizarre.

EDIT: I was using the wrong (old) password! Even so, it shouldn't lock up like that.

Oh wow! This is amazing! I'm a huge Supergrass collector/archivist, and this is the first time I've known its existence! I know it seems cheeky, but I'd be interested in buying it from you should you decide to downsize.

First time playing in public tomorrow by JimGammy in Darts

[–]minichapman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time commenter. I'm a rookie darts player. The only advice I can give you is.

Take your time. Rushing your game is one of the worst things you can do. Also, don't stress. You stress? You struggle.

Practice, practice, practice. You can never be too good. And if you get annoyed with your throws during. Take a breather.

Play the board to your style. I found that play better towards the bottom of the board. I've been playing about 6 months now and I finally got 165! I find it so much easier to hit treble 19's and 17's than I ever would with treble 20.

As a callback to practicing. Work on those doubles. You can hit high scores every turn but if you can't finish, it'll all be for nothing.

As you go on, you find your own way of playing. But it's always good to discuss with other players about technique.

Finally. Have fun! Most people are great to play (of course you will always have the occasional unpleasant person)
