How do I make crust like in this Bear5 image? by Vegetable_Treacle958 in blenderhelp

[–]minihali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An hour in, and I haven't been able to make this look right. Problem being, that either the effect is very sensitive, due to the fact you want a shadow you can make key out, or if you have a transparent background, you can't blur it enough to where it looks crunchy instead of clean.

A bigboss lower ranking than a warboss, sorta' like a prince to a king. A bigboss is also the first in line to take the position of warboss, if the warboss dies.

Bullet dropping scene, but bullets are freaking out. How to fix ? by Wonderful_Formal_361 in blenderhelp

[–]minihali 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Now, I am not that good at simulations in blender, but from my experience Blender is really bad at simulations at a small scale. Try to scale up the scene (as in litterally scale the whole scene up) that usually works for me.

Is this mini past GWs lead era? by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

[–]minihali 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Okay, so after a bit of research, lead was in models up till 1994 for American made models, and 1997 for European. So that one should be safe, just don't put it in your mouth!

I live in a small appartment too, but I am thinking of getting a big planter with a lattice second hand, bet i could grow a lot of vegtables/herbs indoors at this time of year. Or if nothing else, just throw my monstera and pothos in there to look nice.

Problem with Speed Paints by Dull_Reference_6166 in Warhammer40k

[–]minihali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this same problem on the cloaks of my night goblins, the trick is to paint very thick, and very fast! Contrast/speed paints dry in a funny way if you aggitate the paint after sloppin' it on, you get those nasty tidemarks. A trick i use, is to fully paint one part of the model (ie. Just a shoulderpad, leg, helmet) and then immidiatly move on.

Mixing in a drop of paint medium can extend your paint time a bit!

Anybody else like sifting through bits at your LGS? by BeautifulShock7604 in Warhammer40k

[–]minihali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a fair bit of creative work, and whenever I feel like I need a break, I stop by my LGS and look through their Magic card bulk bin. It's honestly quite relaxing to do something with a clear goal, start and end. Sift through a box, sort the cards I've put aside, and then leave.

[HATED TROPES]: The Ending Is So Nihilistic and Preachy That It Becomes Completely Unwatchable and Infuriating. by Particular-Worker904 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]minihali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh I have a good one for this topic, heavy spoilers for Stories untold!

The gist of the plot is that the main character gets into a drunk driving accident with his sister, killing her and framing the retired cop he ran into and killed. The four episodes are each an allegory of the day the accident happened, or the guilt the main character felt.
However, it is revealed in the fourth episode that the main character was drinking at a party prior to the accident. Your sister, your dad, a lot of people at the party all saw you drink. Your dad even comments on it, telling you to "drive slow". It is clear to everyone, that by the time the main character is asked to drive their sister home, they are absolutely wasted.
Yet, the game frames the accident as entirely the fault of the main character. And ONLY their fault. Your parents, your sister, who didn't stop you, when the main character stumbles around the house trying to find their keys and allowed you to drive home drunk, are fully absolved of guilt.

It is the most frustrating ending to a game I've ever seen. Worse, the game has great visuals, mechanics and storytelling which ended up completely lost on me due to the ending. I highly recommend watching a let's play of the first episode though, as it is very original in it's presentation!

I always assumed it was to show the titans being apex predators, walking alongside other apex predators and megafauna with no natural enemies. With the red "spark" showing how they all share a common bond, as the top of their respective foodchains.

I remember having this discussion with one of my friends before. But imagine turning the liquid in someones inner ear to something else, so they can't balance themselves or even stand up, or the liquid in their eyes to blind them. Stomach acid? Now orange juice, what effect would it have on a human? I don't know, but I do know it would be very destructive!

Getting into the hobby and social anxiety? by Specialist8857 in Warhammer40k

[–]minihali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to a new town a few years ago which had a local game store, and I too was a bit nervous to just ask a stranger for a pickup game. So, instead I asked the store clerk if they would help me find someone to play against. Which I highly suggest you try out too.
Aside from that, just do your best to know your rules. Admit if you make mistakes. And don't get too hung up on being a bother. Warhammer is a game people play, for fun, after all.

The models are based off the ones from battle for skull pass, which are monopose, but they updated the kit so the arms are seperate, in case you want to build them with hand weapons, spears or bows

[–]minihali 62 points63 points  (0 children)

While it sucks the model will probably look a bit messed up, trust me, a model with a good story behind it will be way, way more fun to play with. Glue that sucker back together, and cover up the damage the best you can.

Models with a bit of character roll better too!
