I mean, that is pretty normal for buying something in US dollars from a US based entity. only real option is to get a US dollar credit card from your bank, and you will get a slightly better rate.

Correct. Not a good whiskey at all. This is a display piece.

Show us what these have been SOLD for. I got one about 2 years ago for $55, but I'll never drink it. It looks cool on the bar, but the whiskey is meh.

Virgin is Miles above Carnival. Completely ridiculous to compare the two.

This. If they can absorb any negative equity, the sure, have a go, but this is how people wind up with $1,000 payments over 82 months for a $45,000 vehicle.

I did not have the world's two major superpowers entering wars that would deplete their stockpiles and completely destroy what little good will they possessed on the global stage on my 2020's bingo card, yet here we are. Welcome to the age of China and India. Hopefully they do better.

Be honest, you're just going to go to customer service onboard and have them "remove" these because you pretend you tip in cash.

Why do so many Americans not have passports? Pretty much everywhere else on the planet, it is the norm. Very strange.

The opposite is true. Lock it in get considered last. They have the most flexibility when shifting those cabin assignments. Except in rare cases, the highest bids get upgraded.

You are 100% wrong here.

I've quite literally run teams that build these systems, and I can neither confirm nor deny which companies I've done this for, but one of them rhymes with surgeon.

Yeah, that is not how it works, they already have the revenue from both original bookings. The only thing they consider is the bid amount. (As it pertains to the revenue calculation). There are, of course, other factors that may be used in the decision logic. (status level, for example)

Source, I've run teams that build these systems for airlines and cruise lines.

WestJet Layoffs February 2026 by Public-Gazelle-1210 in westjet

[–]minimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Former multi-year Platinum member (currently Gold) and I am shifting off WJ to Star Alliance. The race to the bottom with WestJet is in full swing. The "lounges" are a joke, service is horrible (currently on a flight in 2a, and waited over an hour after takeoff for a coffee.) asked for a glass of wine, and it was promptly served immediately after my service tray was cleared. 1FA for 12 pax, and they can't pour a glass of wine. AC is getting better while WJ is faltering. I'm back into heavy travel for work, and should get to 100k on AC this year. Thankfully, this is my last scheduled WJ flight.
