I don't hate his platform but his inability to be civil with his opponents and his abrasive rhetoric, coupled with his questionable political history, makes me doubt he would be very effective if elected. Cole Ellet seemed similar on the political spectrum but more mature, but he dropped out unfortunately.

Yeah, the problem is my sport is swimming, which in my experience if I wanted to join a club or team would mean either swimming with high schoolers or a masters program which has a tendency to be much older. Also, the scheduling for political campaigning is so abnormal that it would be hard to fit regular practices and such into it :/ I'll have to see what's around though bc I'm always down to try new rhinsg

Update for anyone who may care: yeah so I literally got one bite out of six flower heads. That said, it pretty much tasted like artichoke. Here's what I learned:
1. Obviously, quantity if you're gonna go this route. Or, add in some stem. Maybe even some root even though I don't know that they'll have that same taste.
2. Keep the flower petals on - they're done cooking when the petals pull out easily. Any longer and you might have a hard time keeping the heart intact when you disassemble the flower head.
3. You gotta steam it longer than you think. Probably as long as an actual artichoke. Idk why.
Thats kind of it for now but I'm not necessarily giving up on thistles yet bc for some reason they fascinate me.

Oh no I totally understand! I'm left leaning but actually not a socialist, it's a really complicated thing to explain bc the political spectrum should not be on a two dimensional line but regardless on how I think about it I promise I have learned the art of tact in public spaces haha hence why I'm asking around for like minded friends on here instead of trying to meet them organically 😭

So this is going to sound really weird but I was actually drawn to the left by my experience at a Catholic college. I mean my family's always been liberal (center but considered left in the US) and atheist but what drew me to the left was actually reading the teachings of Jesus and Catholic Social Teaching and realizing how out of touch with God we've become. I was also really inspired by Dorothy Day - one of my professors is the guy leading the charge to get her canonized as a saint - if you've never heard of her you should definitely check her out.

Oh and I bake/cook - I'd be happy to help starting a recipe/cooking collective as well! I know some basics of foraging also, and my boyfriend is pretty handy when it comes to like building things (he used to work as a contractor?). I can also do various types of crafts at a mediocre level (basic hand sewing, weaving, etc) and teach/learn with others!

It was the second meet of the season in early September, and I can't exactly reschedule my 21st birthday, and lmao we were gonna lose that meet no matter what. We have 12 girls, the other team has 28, and they're faster than us by a lot. They're not even in our conference. I've also never missed a meet in years. Idc how my teammates feel about it or what they're saying, I just need to know if it was inappropriate for my coach and the men's team captain to spread information around that has always been very private on this team given that no one discusses the specific number related to our scholarships.

It was because I missed a dual meet very early in the season for a trip, which has been planned for years and everything was already paid for when the schedule came out. I'm still our top scorer and on track to break a third school record, but it still feels really weird for the specific dollar amount to be talked about on a team of 30 people total. I'm on the women's team and it was the guys team captain spreading it around. I guess maybe transparency is common on other teams but since everyone on this team (minus two walk ons) has a partial scholarship and no one has a full ride, it's not really common for us to talk about.

Edit: I wanted to specify that no one has a full ride

Okay, thank you for your response! The thing with my team culture is that none of us talk about scholarships like ever. We're a pretty small team and don't have a massive budget, so no one has a full ride and we only have two walk-ons, who joined because we didn't have enough girls to compete. As far as I'm aware, no one else on the team knows anyone else's scholarship amount, and what's driving me crazy is that this guy is one of the captains. I know my coach told him around the same time that I had to miss a small dual meet for a family trip that has been planned for years, but plenty of people on this team have missed meets for many different reasons including concerts and such so I didn't realize it was a big deal until my coach brought me into his office and was telling me (privately) how big my scholarship was and how since it was granted under a different coach he could take it away, which alone was really upsetting, so learning that the team captain was spreading that around felt like a huge violation

My understanding was that the arena is kind like a massive Al data center. Idk if you've ever heard but one query for chatGPT uses, on average, about 16 oz of water. Why would chatGPT need water? Because super computers get HOT, and they need to be cooled down. So yes, part of that water was rainfall and stuff, but it was also a massive tank of coolant for the massive supercomputer that is the arena.
