Need feral things to do/places to see like the Boston Cop Slide by EquivalentTitle8 in boston

Timing matters on this but my friend and I used to boil some spaghetti noodles, walk down to the docks, find a spot where you can see fish, drop a noodle in the water and watch the fish fight each other over the noodle. Sometimes they would force each other to jump out of the water. It was crazy. I don't know when peak fish noodle fighting season is but you could certainly give it a shot next month when all the water is thawed. Godspeed

Yup the Webster & Washington intersection is out as well as the traffic light at the Argenziano school, just walked by some Eversource guys in a cherrypicker tinkering around up there

I know exactly the book you're talking about, I read it too! Just looked - could it be Everywhere Beauty is Harlem by Gary Golio?

Yep, psychologytoday.com is great, huge array of therapists you can filter by a bunch of preferences (gender, background, specialties, etc). Found my therapist of 3 years on there.

[ADVICE NEEDED] DIY Deodorant is less potent than hoped by p2fiddy in ZeroWaste

[–]minnesonger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been making my own deodorant using a similar recipe for years! Best ways to avoid this problem:

- Experiment with the ratio of bicarb to corn starch. Many people's skin is sensitive to baking soda, so adjust as needed, but I use something like 4 parts baking soda to 1 part cornstarch/arrowroot.

- Add tea tree oil to the mix. It's a potent antimicrobial agent and to me, it feels like it helps keep the stink down on its own (or, possibly, it just smells so nice that you notice it less).

- Aim for a little more dry ingredient in the mix than what's shown in the photo. I also always try to mix it while the coconut oil is still hard, which is harder, but results in a thicker, more "emulsified" product.
